couple thoughts, of the two I would have perferred Arians, who's got just as good of a resume working w/QB's, but is more recent. But I wonder if the reports he would have perferred the SD job b/c of Rivers killed that chance.
I like Trestman all the same, it doesn't bother me he O was in the CFL, since the NFL seems to heading towards that anyways. I also wonder if his ability to develop a qb is both a boon for Cutler and noose; this time the O is going to be the HC, and he's staying even if Cutler doesn't like it. 670 rumored that HH wants to see some NFL maturity from Cutler, talking about his ability to work w/and get along w/the HC/OC even when times are tough(regarding that all 3 OC's relationship w/him started strong and ended poorly). If this guy cannot work w/Cutler I have no doubt they think he can work w/a new kid.
I personally want them to keep Cutler, but I would understand them willing to go w/a new hybrid qb that can be gotten in the mid rounds and see if that works. A sports radio guy down here was talking about them as not a fad b/c if you do not have an elite qb(brees/rogers/manning/brady) and don't have a Eli/Big Ben type either, but have a Romo(I put Cutler in that level) then you don't havea qb that can beat one of the ones before him; so why not go w/something completely different? It's what SF and Sea did. Both looked at Smith/Flynn and said these guys cannot beat Rogers, so we have to go w/a different route. And it worked to varying degrees. The key to this type of qb is that they have to be able to throw from the pocket fairly well, AND run really well. I could see a guy like Trestman being able to develop that.
I fully hope before any of that happens though they get the OL fixed, b/c the key to any O is going to be the OL. Should be interesting who is coordinators will be.
I'm going off line for a while, have a good offseason. Bear Down.
:sad44:for my Montreal Alouettes.
:8_14_7[1]: for my Chicago Bears.
Welcome to the Windy City, Marc.
I'm not your biggest fan but since you're the chosen one I really believe you'll succeed. Please don't make us regret Lovie. There is a lot work that needs to be done.
We'll see you in NYC on Feb 2nd 2014.
As Larry the Cable Guy would say: Git-R-Done!

So there's this:
Jerry who? What are we just out to find negative things about another coach Benji? Got any crap to sling about Cutler today you care to throw at us too? :icon_smile_slap:
Why are you always such a noodge about this stuff. Damn the guy just got hear on what's probably a 5 year deal so let's find some positives instead of negatives. You'll find guys out there who dislike a few of the coaches they've played for. Some guys hated Halas, Lombardi and Shula too but the won a ton of football games between them.
We hired him to coach not represent us in the fuckin' Miss America Pageant. He worked for Al Davis once so if all he knows is "Just win baby, just win" then that 's all I care about. :drinking61:
I'm skeptical cause I don't much on Trestman, But I'm excited to see what direction the Bears are headed In. He's go a lot of work to do so let's get it done. Bear Down!
If this blows up, after passing on Bruce Arians. Emery deserves to be fired!
This was something brought up on the score. Just passing along info.
for the record, I will always pass along positive news and the negative stuff. If you don't like reading or hearing negative stuff about the Bears message boards are not the best place for ya ;)
i am not going to close my eyes to negative thoughts or articles. Ever
