While yes he wasn't my first choice Emery made his selection now it's time to hope that Trestman can bring home that Superbowl trophy.

I am really happy with this choice. Trestman was #1 on my list, closely followed by Arians as my #2. I would have been happy with either of these guys as our HC. If you look at Trestman's entire body of work, you have to be impressed. He is so much more than just a great offensive minded coach, although he definitely has stellar credentials in that area too. Here is a guy who has been extremely successful as a head coach. He's a proven winner at the NFL and CFL level. In the CFL he's know as "the Belechik of the CFL"......not because he's a Belechik personality, but because he's a consistent winner at the highest level.
This was the perfect year to be hiring a new head coach. There were some outstanding candidates. We got "pick of the litter" IMHO. The best.

I think it's a great hire. I always liked how Trestman carries himself. He's not a big ego guy but very cerebral and his teams were always prepared to play. I'm glad to see an NFL team think outside the box as these hot assitant to head coach hires are a mixed bag and retreads got fired from their last jobs for a reason. I hope he does well.
As for the Als I think their time of Eastern Conference domination is coming to an end

Looks like Brandon likes him as well.

Brandon Marshall on Marc Trestman: 'I love the hire'
Receiver Brandon Marshall was one of the first Chicago Bears players to chime in on the late-night hiring of new head coach Marc Trestman. Known for his creative approach to offense, Trestman brings with him a reputation for turning around quarterbacks and transforming sluggish attacks into aggressive affairs that press defenses through the air. Marshall is a fan of the shift. "I absolutely love the hire," Marshall told the Chicago Sun-Times, "and the few guys I've talked to love it, too. "Hearing from guys who have played for him and been around him, he's a guy that's innovative." It's a challenge to imagine a high-octane offense in Chicago after years of troubled line play and inconsistency. Trestman brings that promise. He's a name few spoke of 30 days ago, but the track record is proven. Trestman's former quarterbacks -- including a few Hall of Famers -- vouch for him, and it appears Marshall is on board, too.

for the record, I will always pass along positive news and the negative stuff.
If you don't like reading or hearing negative stuff about the Bears message boards are not the best place for ya ;) No way. I've been here longer than you so nanny nanny boo boo!
i am not going to close my eyes to negative thoughts or articles. Ever
It's not about closing ones eyes Benji it's about reading and evaluating some of this crap before you post it. Do you really read it and do you really believe in it? If not then why not post an opinion of it. It's like your playing both sides of the street. You post this then a half later post one that says Rice is very complimentary of him.
The first one is just a slag piece and you've been around long enough to recognize that. Just sayin'.
