Either way, it's looking like they're going to be throwing a lot of resources at coaching up and developing the O-line.
I feel like I've died and gone to heaven. The news just keeps getting better and better. I keep pinching myself to make sure I'm not just dreaming all of this (and Lovie Smith and Jerry Angelo are still here).

It's amazing, right. They hired a guy with actual recent success at building a rock solid o-line. Maybe this next year we will crack being ranked in the 30's and move up into the lofty heights of the middle of the pack in regards to offensive line protection.
Whooo, I feel light headed just thinking about that. What would it be like to watch a team with an o-line that was not a liability? I've only seen such things on other teams.

Not sure. I've only read about such things as a dominant OL and the fountain of youth.

After last years draft I felt like the front office wasn't serious about fixing the line. Now with this change and the new hires it feels like they have identified the problem and will try to fix it.

I think that's a combination of several things. I do believe that the HC plays a big part in what he tells the GM he needs to succeed. Tice told Lovie he was good and Lovie just parrotted it rather than give it a critical look. I think that played a part and because of all Emery had on his plate, he back burnered it since the coaches told him they would make it work.
I think this time he has gone into interviews with questions as to how the HC is going to fix the line. I really think this year the OL is front and center. Finally.

In fairness to Lovie, Tice also showed Lovie what he purported to be his sack of pixie dust. What poor Lovie didn't realize was that Tice was showing him a 50-pound sack of pancake flour (used to cook Webb's pancakes for snacking during oline practices). Tice told Lovie that he also had a bag of "magic beans" Lovie could plant at Halas Hall to grow a giant beanstalk that would allow him to harvest a left tackle. Lovie liked that beanstalk idea a lot.

Can we officially say "see ya" to Tice, Drake, and Deboard? God I hope so.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

The question I have is how did Drake keep his job so long. What receiver during his tenure with the Bears has he actually "developed"?

Berrian ........ No, look how that turned out.
Knox & Bennett were both known commodities when they were drafted so again I say no. Drake should have been shown the door years ago but Lovie had (and still has) no clue.
