Convert him to a FB? TE? Am I in bizarro world? Why? Why would you sign an average-at-best QB to play FB and TE? lol
I don't even understand how one gets to the conclusion that he might even be decent at either position, especially at the NFL level. Because we've seen him scramble and run away from defenders this gives us a reason to think he can open up holes for a RB, stand up a blitzing linebacker, or run routes and catch a football in traffic? LMAO... I need another drink...

Oh Thank GOD someone else sees through the bullshit!!
I alluded to it earlier. You CAN'T switch a position in the pros. It's just not done anymore. And if it is, it's done by phenomenal athletes. And NO, Tebow is NOT a phenomenal athlete. Sorry.
If Hester can't successfully transition from defensive back to wide receiver (about as close as two positions could possibly be), you don't have a prayer of converting a quarterback to a tight end.
Pun intended.
*Edit. And yes, that means Tebow's career is all it's already been.

Greeting from Jacksonville. Now not here to start nothing or talk trash. Anyway none of us Jags fans hate tebow as a person. Just his egotistical, can never do anything wrong followers. They are not worth your headache. Believe me tebow does nothing wrong and one a playoff game and d gets no credit. In their eyes all tebow. So would advise to pray he don't go there. You all will never hear the end of it. If don't believe me? Go on jags forum or gang green you will see. Anyway thanks for your time. Good luck next year.

Tebow>Cutler, no thx. Not even as a backup. Problem w/FL qb's is the same throughout history, they aren't taught to pre read D's. It's chuck it to the WR b/c he's bigger and faster and more athletic then anyone else on the other team. If it's available, run. I'd rather have Grossman back.
Just b/c our HC had nice things to say about a qb that PAID him for his services doesn't mean he really feels that way, his job was to help sell Tebow and his potential.
Just b/c we hired the qb coach from the Jets who last worked w/Tebow means nothing. He saw first hand how useless he was, and you heard from both Den and Jets players how useless he was.
In short stupid article.
As for that list of wrestlers that died early, rember that many died b/c of drug OD's or other issues not related to the injuries they suffered in the ring. But no doubt many have suffered from the very real injuries of "fake" event.

It looks like we may finally have the coaching staff to develop offensive player talent here in Chicago. With this in mind, I'd like to see us develop a youngster at QB who can be a solid backup initially, and ultimately, if needed, he could be Cutler's replacement down the road.
It's hard for me to grasp that we finally have offensive coaches who can develop players. Not just at QB, but throughout the offense. It will be really satisfying to sit back and watch this happen. It's been so frustrating over the years to NOT have this capability. Chicago wasn't just where WR's come to die. It was where offensive players came to die - any and all of them. We couldn't develop young talent. It killed us.
I sure am excited that we have Emery & Trestman now.

I'm on the fence here. I don't dismiss Trestman's ability to develop a quarterback. But in principle, bringing in Tebow does Emery no favors with the media that is studying the guy while he tries to make his first impressions on the team. And I like Tebow.
I'm BACK, Jack... or something..

I like TT too. But it would be totally foolhardy to bring him here. A media circus would ensue. That might be worth it if he was a real QB talent. Which he is not. No thanks a thousand times over.
I do feel bad for him. He was poorly served by coaches way back in high school and college who indulged his QB fantasies when he all he could do is run (wildcat). It was effective at those levels no doubt, but someone should have told TT the truth along the way if he wanted to play football beyond the NCAA and coached him properly. If they had years ago, he might be a realistic NFL FB/H-back (with the ability to throw on an occasional gadget play or fake FG/punt) by now. Either no one bothered to give him the straight talk about his lack of pro QB abilities or he refused to listen. Either way, his career looks all but over to me.

Co-signed.
Emery is a guy that people are still trying to figure out if he truly is a quality GM. So, at this point, people are judging him by what he says and by the moves that are not able to be graded yet. Making a move like this, which would create a circus, is not what he needs this early in his resume. Maybe if he already had a positive track record established. The last thing he needs is to be linked to the Jets in any capacity.

Yep, the last thing Emery wants to do early in his tenure here is make himself look like a buffoon by pulling a cheap and distracting PR stunt. I would put bringing in TT or Mike Singletary in that category. They would both represent a pander to meatball types with both having records and qualifications that wouldn't justify bringing them on board.
Emery cant afford to get a rep for un-seriousness and shotgun-style poor decision making. That was a major part of JA's undoing.

I wish Tebow the best, but as a QB he doesn't have any ceiling. We need a youngster who has a high ceiling. This would be a sound investment for the Bears. Heck, even if it was a guy who could be a rock solid backup, I'd be fine with that. Truly good backup QB's are valuable to a team.
Tebow, IMHO, is going nowhere as a QB. What you see is what you get, and what you'll have in the future. I feel sorry for the guy, because he has been hyped to the point folks can't see him objectively. They either think he's a bum, or they think he's a good QB. He's neither.
