I don't know. A young guy does something super stupid here. He's not the first and won't be the last. It's not like he pulled a Ray Lewis and people died. Once Te'o starts locking up Pro Bowl years for a team, nobody will care about this. Most won't even remember it happened.
If we could get this guy on the cheap due to him falling from grace here, hey, I'm all for it. I just want the Bears to win. We don't have to draft choir boys. This guy could help us.

I'm not all that hip on the story but didn't his grandmother die as well during that time? Maybe some mental duress there. I'd say it's forgivable, not like he shot some people or killed some dogs. Hell, it's not even a DUI.

It's almost boring. Tank Johnson's buddy getting gunned down, drunk captain Ced Benson, Lance Briggs & the Lamborghini joy ride......now THOSE are interesting. A college kid getting owned on the Internet is small potatoes.

I understand Benj that it's not a good thing, and I do care about high character players. But I'm also a big believer in 2nd chances. Maybe because I have been given 2nd chances in life. I'm not the same person I was, when I was Te'o's age. I'll bet he'll learn from this and go on to be a solid guy - and a great NFL player. If we could get him at a reduced draft pick price, then I'm fine with that.
