Nothing to confirm yet...its all speculation at this point. Mostly they are just trying to brace us for the possibility of him leaving, but doubtful anything will happen until after Trestman meets with the staff tomorrow.

Why is he "my boy" all of the sudden?

Well that will suck big tim, a much bigger lose than Toub. I really hope we can and will stay because atleast then we have some guy that the team knows. Our defense without him is going to blow I can imagine, so losing Rod wouldn't really increase our playoff chances. Hopefully Emery and Trestman sees the valvue in him and will pay him enough money to stay.

Sometimes, innocent typos are the funniest thing on the internet.
Yeah, losing Marinelli would deal a serious blow to the defense, but I don't think it wo would be crippling. Nothing like, for example, on the scale the offense went through. There's just too much talent there and the best part is that, except for the LB Corps, lots of that talent isn't fully developed yet.
Which is odd... damn you, Jerry Angelo!!

we can get by without Rod. Just wonder who the new DC will be. I wouldn't rule out Singletary tbh. Not that I want him, but he could get that job.

Yep. If you want to keep as much of that staff intact as possible Hoke would be perfect but I really hope they can persuade Marinelli to stay.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

I think this makes sense why we interviewed singletary and other defensive guys now... Same as decamillus if we lost our coordinators we would be able to fill the spot fast. What other defensive guys did we interview that would be a great replacement?
Also Besides singletary debacle in San Fran what has his impression been in Minnesota?

| Darrell Bevell (43) | Seahawks | OC | Sat, Jan 12 | Tue, Jan 15 |
| Mike Singletary (54) | Vikings | LB Coach | Sat, Jan 12 | --- |
| Mike Priefer (46) | Vikings | ST Coord | Sat, Jan 12 | --- |
| Bruce Arians (60) | Colts | OC | Sun, Jan 13 | Tue, Jan 15 |
The defensive guys interviewed included Singletary and.... and... and nobody else. Of the ST guys, we already grabbed DeCamillis and Toub jumped ship and took his assistant with him, so that leaves Armstrong and Priefer. Preifer isn't DC material, and wasn't Armstrong a ST guy in Chicago 10 years ago? I don't think he has DC qualifications either. Rod leaving may be an unplanned shock to the system.

Still not convinced we are going to lose Rod. Hopefully that won't happen
