If Hoke becomes DC, then he may give it another shot, but he wants the superbowl and I'm sure he'll feel like it won't happen this year with so many changes. He may only have a year left in the tank anyway, depending on his knee. Unfortunately, I think he'll retire or try to get a 1 year gig somewhere else.

I see Lovie becoming Dallas' head coach to start the 2014 season. Monte is old and will last about 2-3yrs and Rod will take over.

i do not want to see a brand new guy come in here, he'll get no respect from the defense. it should be hoke.

We need someone with a proven track record to run a defense on his own since Trestman is an offensive mind. Lovie's problem was the exact opposite.

You know, I've been thinking. Everybody is so worried about respect and loyalty to the coaches, but Rod bolted for no real reason. Where's his loyalty to his players? As far as Hoke, at this point, it might be best to just clean house and start from scratch. 1 holdout isn't going to make much difference. New season, new people, new attitude. NO MORE MEDIOCRITY!!!!

Hoke may be gone too. I understand he was not in the building when everyone else was let go. He is probably still there, but until they tell him, they probably won't make an announcement.

The mystery 14th interview was another ST guy. So no further info on possible DC candidates here.

We all knew that if Lovie was let go that these things were possibilities. His firing was not a popular decision amongst the defensive players and I don't imagine those members of his staff closest to him took it well either especially in view of how well the defense had performed.
In Toubs case I think it was a combination of loyalty to Lovie and his loyalty to Andy Reid outweighing his loyalty to the Bear organization. But in Marinelli's case I think it's totally about his loyalty to Lovie and I think it's a bad move on his part because his players obviously wanted him to stay and Trestman wanted him to stay. Nothing else really makes any sense because he was popular, well liked, and effective.
So this one pisses me off. I wish Toub good luck in KC but as far as Marinelli is concerned I won't.
He's deserting a team that helped him boost his career again after his debacle in Detroit and his players and I believe it's all because he's miffed about Lovie being canned. So all I'll say is sayonara Rod.

Well Emery has met with him so we'll see. He fell flat on his face in SF as a HC and his critics say that he was a disorganized mess. I think that of a guy like Hoke isn't promotable, and I don't see why he's not, then I suppose Singletary i worth considering but you want a guy who's not gonna make sweeping changes so I see that as a major deal breaker if he does.
