Does anyone know if the NFL has a limit on the number of coaches a team can have, as the NCAA does? It seems strange that Meyers specializes in the exact same things as Kromer. I assume he would just be an assistant O-Line coach, but I didn't know if we are limited in how many we could have.

Trestman has looked at out OL and thinks it will take 3 OL coaches per lineman.

What they won't tell you is that in spite of back to back championships the team couldn't fill a 25,000 seat stadium to support them. Therefore they had to work with a lot of restraints and of course the non-import to import ratio (you must have 20 canadians on each CFL team). With your team and your fan support and your resources they should flourish.
Thanks for the input deuvl. Anything else you can share?

I do not think there is a limit ... it all depends on how much the Head Coach wants to pass out.
When Gibbs was back in Washington during his second stint with the team... his coaching staff was around 25. He had himself then a couple Assistant Head Coaches (who also held positional jobs) then an Offensive Assistant then an Offensive Coordinator and then numerous positional coaches who also had assistants as well. This same structure held true for the defensive side of the ball.

Every team has a OL coach and OC. Some OCs share the OL coaching duty or specialize in it, but they still have their every day guy for coaching up the OL. Trestman is calling the plays and he will most likely design the playbook in conjunction with Kromer. Kromer may be offensive coordinator in title, and he very well could be a real behind-the-scenes hero, but to me, his hiring is about having a sure focus on systematizing our OL to the outstanding flex blocking scheme that is now all the rage after becoming so successful in places like SF, ATL and NO.

local media were starting to unfairly brand him as a tyrant because coaches were leaving. they couldn't handle the strain of the work marc was asking them to do. he is a consummate perfectionnist which is why it was time for him to swim in better waters. some might say his offensive schemes were becoming predictable but again he is limited by what he has to work with. He's helped our aging QB break cfl records for all-time TDs, completions and set 'pro' football all time yards passing record and last year he broke Doug Flutie's records of seven consecutive 300 yard games and six 5,000 yard passing seasons and this is at the age of 40.
