Would not be a bad option for DC... has experienced in 4-3 and 3-4. Jaqs have been a top team in Total Defense the past couple of years. Plus he has done a lot with very little in jacksonville... so imagine what he could do with players like Peanut, Brigg$, Peppers & Co.

I was going by these. The Jags don't show up as top 5 anyway. Overall, they came in at 30 out of 32. They are #22 in passing defense and #30 in rushing defense.

We didn't need, or want, Bates in the mix. Cutler HAS to change some things. I totally agree that Trestman shouldn't let Jay keep the security blanket. There's a new sheriff in town, and Jay's gotta (finally) learn to improve. Cutler will no longer have ANY excuses. He'll have a good oline, decent receivers, probably a solid receiving TE & arguably the best QB coach (Trestman). If he doesn't improve with Trestman helping him, then we need to look for a new QB in 2014.
Exactly (on bolded part). Cutler seemed to regress despite the addition of Marshall. Bates, if he was a great fit with Cutler, might have prevented that. Did not happen. Try the next coach because coaches are way easier to find than franchise qbs in Chicago.

I'm happy this has happened. Our coaching has been awful on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. No more doghouse, no more politics to keep your job. If the guys you are coaching are not improving, get out. Daryl Drake was driving me crazy with how guys were leaving and playing better than under him. No more indecisive moving guys around for years at a time. "Well, he sucks here, let's try this spot. That didn't work either, but our reputations are at stake. It can't be the player, and it can't be us. It must be the position. Move him again".
If this is how Trestman is towards coaches, I hope he maintains the same attitude towards players. There are only a few guys on this offensive line I think are with keeping around.
Did not see Hoke's name. Did he get fired in an earlier purging? He's someone I'd keep. The only place where people have been developing have been at defensive line and cornerback. Too bad Marinelli is not sticking around, but things can change.

Thus far, Hoke, Phair, and Byrd are staying as DL and DB coaches.

That's great to hear.
