Being a linebacker was his profession back in the '80s and that's the best coaching he can bring to a team. I don't think Singletary was ready to handle a whole team on his own but I do think he works best as a behind-the-scenes coach. It's not like he would have a lot of power. But maybe he could communicate his passion and enthusiasm to our LBs that are already above-average.
I'd also take a closer look at Pittsburgh's LB coach Keith Butler because he's been working with talent for years. Unfortunately he's a 3-4 coach.
