Why do you want a crazy man working with a coaching staff that seems level headed?
Don't get me wrong Benji, I'm not pretending to be right.
Being a linebacker was his profession back in the '80s and that's the best coaching he can bring to a team. I don't think Singletary was ready to handle a whole team on his own but I do think he works best as a behind-the-scenes coach. It's not like he would have a lot of power. But maybe he could communicate his passion and enthusiasm to our LBs that are already above-average.
I'd also take a closer look at Pittsburgh's LB coach Keith Butler because he's been working with talent for years. Unfortunately he's a 3-4 coach.

I just think he is a nutjob. Not sure his antics would fly well with Trestman.

What, you never had a coach that flashed his junk at you to demonstrate how badly you were getting your ass kicked?

Ummm no. That is why he became a laughingstock after that incident.

People DO learn. Plus, I think a fair counterbalance to that is his handling of the Spellman hostage situation showed he cand handle stress better than he is given credit for.

Unless Minny lets him out of his contract we can't hire him lb. He's a LB/Asst. HC in Minny and bringing him in as just as LB coach isn't a promotion it's actually a demotion. So that kind of takes care of him as a candidate. At that level he'd probably prefer to stay in Minny with his old teammate anyway.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Could they not tack on a title either functional or ceremonial to make it an upward jump?
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.
