Np glad I can help. And no I don't see Tucker as HC anytime soon. He is a great guy. Just not HC material yet. But an Elite DC.

Anyhow in regards to Oline thing. Even though went 5-11 in 11. Gene Smith decided to not address O line. We lose Mojo to injury and out side of Monroe they are the worst here is why. For starters Blaine looks like a bust. Forget the receivers dropped over 80 passes in 1 and a half years he started and o line breaks down nearly every play. But anyway. Measter is good but getting older and making more mistakes. Whimper is not a starter and barely competes with third stringers on most teams. Bradfield was a undrafted and beat out Britton who was benched twice. Not because Bradfield is good but Britton is that bad. Rackley was injured. Chuku Is okay but could easily be replaced. They made Blaine look soft but honestly we are so bad. Blaine was better off telling the guys take 3 steps and turn around. A DE was in his face so much he had no time to throw the ball. And no other option but to run or get killed.

Now I could be lying and Blaine could be trash. However Chad one game was sacked 12 times. So no I would anyday of the week rather have your line then ours. Thank you for your time.

Fire and passion aren't the equivalent of lunatic raving at your team. Listen to Marc Trestman talk about his plans for the team at his presser and you hear fire and passion yet not once does he raise his voice or belittle any questioner no matter how dumb or leading his question was.

From the reading I've done mixed with discussion with family in flordia he is a more aggressive coach then we are used to

Expect more man blitz schemes rather than zone drop 2

It will be interesting to see how Tillman and Jennings do in man a bit more, but if they struggle I fully expect us to not pound a square peg in a round hole.

I still am not convinced if we are running more LB blitzes with man low 2 high coverage instead of drop 7 in Tampa 2 that Shea will not be concidered for LB to play to hos strengths

70 to 50 is a much easier change than 70 to 7 and I think this new staff may at least entertain the idea if he continues to struggle and our scheme changes to one that can uatlize a LB with pass rush skills

His move to de was the old regime doing the square peg idea again......

Only going by what i recall, Tillman and Jennings played man quite a bit last year and did well. I don't have too many concerns about them.

I would like to see more agressive playcalling. I think our d could have been even better if they had been unleashed instead of playing soft coverage.

tucker is a good coach.. he was getting head coach interest as well as interest from wisconsin to be their next head coach... in 2011 the jags had an AWESOME defense, despite losing half our starters the last 5 or 6 games of the year.

and even last year we didnt have great players.. he has experience in the 3-4 with cleveland, where his secondary was always among the tops in interceptions, and with Jax he played a 4-3... 2011 was his first year actually calling plays instead of del rio calling them, and that year we had a great defense. He played more man and press style coverages. He is a good hire I think.

If Urlacher decides to return, being more aggressive on defense could extend his career because where the biggest decline will be is in his coverage skills.

He's already lost his sideline-to-sideline speed.

Mel Tucker is keeping all the same terminology that is in place now?

looks like he won't change much for next year. Getting to know the players/team better and don't fix what ain't broken.

Next year will be interesting to see how he handles McClellin and uses him, Wooten and depth guys with potential like DeCicco.

I expect that whatever changes we do see will be subtle to begin with. The only situations that are somewhat unsettled right now is at LB and how Tucker will use McClellin and those two probably combine somewhat.

Now that Lovie is no longer around insisting that McClellin is a "hand in the dirt" DE prospect I think Tucker will continue to find ways to use his play making skills. I expect he'll see more snaps this year than he did last.

If Tucker gets more aggressive and we get away for all those two deep cover-2 shells Lovie liked to use so much McC could come in handy as a rushbacker. Assuming Urlacher and Roach both return we may see Urlacher get a few plays off from time to time like Pep does and we let Roach play the middle in pass coverage and McC plays SLB where it will be harder to predict whether he's coming in a rush or dropping into coverage.

I know one thing. If McC doesn't put on about 10-12 lbs of muscle bulk he's never gonna be an every down DE and that's OK just as long as we have another purpose for him and he can still make plays. Tucker may be able to do more with him than ever could have been done before. We'll just have to wait and see how he plays it.
