I don't know much about him. Is he a 4-3 or 3-4? Also, how aggressive of a play caller is he? I just hope he is a proven commodity so that we won't have the debacle that went on the offensive side of the ball under Lovie.

Awesome, awesome move for Emery and Trestman.

I truly hope it's a Mike Zimmer hybrid. More and more of the league are combining sets and schemes, and the evolution of the game demands flexibility, adaptation and confusion to keep these high-flying offenses guessing and at bay.

Why? Jac doesn't seem to have a great D, then again they don't seem to have great defensive players to work with (judged by ALL-Pro votes, which may be deceiving).

Chicago Bears news: Mel Tucker in play for Chicago Bears defensive coordinator job - chicagotribune.com
One candidate to replace Rod Marinelli as Chicago Bears defensive coordinator is former Jaguars and Browns defensive leader Mel Tucker, according to a league source.
Tucker, 41, has experience running a 4-3 as well as a 3-4. Among his influences have been Nick Saban, Romeo Crennel and Jack Del Rio. He is expected to be in demand by multiple teams. He has been considered a head coaching candidate and has interviewed for head coaching positions. Tucker served as the Jaguars’ interim head coach at the end of the 2011 season, going 2-3 after Del Rio was fired. The position of defensive coordinator is more important on the Bears staff than it had been because Marc Trestman is an offensive minded head coach. In the past, head coach Lovie Smith kept a close eye on the defense. Now, the defensive coordinator is likely to operate with much autonomy. Tucker was a runner-up for the Wisconsin head coaching job that went to Gary Andersen. He played defensive back at the school in the early '90s. The Bears are expected to retain Mike Phair as their defensive line coach, according to a source. FYI, Jax had the 30th ranked defense in 2012. Ouch.
Jon Hoke or Singletary would have been a better choice imo.
Can we at least hire Samurai Mike as LB coach, please?

Trestman - Kromer - Tucker - DeCamillis
I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.

WTF, his defenses have been one of the worst in points allowed. Not really Bears defense material...

Jacksonville doesn't have much talent on D to work with. I really would like a hybrid 4-3 and someone who will stop putting Urlacher and Briggs at the line as if they are blitzing and almost never blitz them. I could understand if you brought them 25% of the time, but when you only bring them 1% of the time you aren't fooling anybody.
