Trestman team stats from the past years - Offense, Defense & Special Teams

I was interested in how his defenses performed over the years, since he is an "offense guy" primarily. They seemed to be respectable on defense. Not great, but not bad either.

I thought some of you guys might be interested in sifting through his team/league stats.
I know you guys are as nutty as I am about stuff like this :smile:

This video is fantastic. I just came across it. It's the first championship season that Montreal has (Trestman's 2nd season there). Pretty cool. It's long, but worth watching.

I watched that one too. From those videos, it looks like Montreal football is pretty exciting to watch. Since they play in the summer, I'm going to try and see if anyone around here has their games on TV. I have Directv, and wonder if they carry the games?

The Fan Train has been a fan-favorite event since its debut in 1998 and it was back for a 14th consecutive year in 2011. The Fan Train is presented by Via Rail Canada and it allows fans to get closer to the Alouettes’ stars during a road game. For $299, taxes included, fans received one round-trip train ticket to Hamilton and one ticket to the game, located within the reserved Alouettes fan section, which every year, with crowds in excess of 300 fans, proves to be a little corner of Percival Molson Stadium on the road.

The Alouettes cheerleaders accompany fans to the game on the train leaving Montreal’s Central Station on the morning of the event. edit: I posted a couple of Montreal Alouettes cheerleaders photos, and made a comment about "It's a good thing they play in the summer, winter is bad for cheerleaders" and posted a photo of cheerleaders wearing winter parkas and snow pants. Of course, it crashed my browser and now I hope I didn't pick up a virus. So you'll have to imagine those photos....

The CFL is usually on ESPN3, sometimes on NFL Network and sometimes on NBC Sports Network. It changes from year to year depending on what TV deal the league can swing. They usually pick up the TSN feed which means you get to see the second reason for watching the CFL - Sara Orlesky. :)

I've been on 6 fan trains including the first and last ones. Always fun. Those two videos were created by goalsgo.com. You may want to check that site and ask questions. It's not a very active forum unfortunately as there are not that many passionate fans in Montreal. There is also a forum on the Montreal alouettes website that is a bit more active. We're in the process of choosing a new HC and the discussions are centered around that.

The goalsgo.com member named 'Jonnys' had a special link to the 2009 title. His mom was a long time fan and was dying. The MVP of the game Avon Cobourne rallied his team at halftime after trailing 17-3 'his mom is dying, we have to win for her' and they did. Great story. After the game he went to Jonnys saying 'I did this for your mom!' she passed away that winter and his jersey was placed in her coffin.

Yeah, I hear ya. No way my wife is letting me go on any "Fan Train" to games with the cheerleaders. Do you think Virginia will ever let us have our Honey Bears back? Can you imagine riding to Bears games with them?????

I...freaking...love what Trestman said to his team before they went out. He asked them after all they have been through, what are they entitled to? They all replied "nothing". That's right, not a damn thing! Just because you got there, doesn't entitle you to anything, you have to go out and earn it, every play, every quarter, every game. Man, I'm voting for this guy for President after retires from the Bears. There are a lot of Americans that need to hear this as well.

I loved that too. His locker room presence is powerful. Not a yeller or a guy who drops his pants to motivate his players. Just a real "Leader of Men"......I've been around a few guys like that in my life (in the Marines and later as a police officer on a tactical unit) and man, I'd follow a guy like that anywhere.
