German, I'll go as far to say you gotta have both. All the protection in the world won't matter a whit if you have receivers that can't catch (or get open) or a guy who can't get it to them. And yes, I have seen Brees & Brady play,...:lol-027: and all the way back to guys like Bradshaw & Staubach, when defenses could get away with a lot more,.... Bottom line, all the guys have to be able to trust each other to do their job.

is this a move to compete with the likes of Green Bay and Detroit offenses? Center everything around the QB, wait for the backup WRs to get healthy and come at teams with both barrels to open up 2013?

But even so, we can't give Cutler a complete pass. He does melt down in his mechanics here and there. And there were times where he had some decent protection and still was pretty bad. Lot of physical ability but he does need to play better in his own right regardless of the other issues on offense. Emery knows this and that's why he hired a HC who basically is Jay's personal position coach as well.

I have faith in this plan and the results. But Jay must SHOW IT next year too.
