Flacco is not better than Cutler. That's all I'm going to say.

As long as we have an OL that bad as we have, we will never know how good Cutler really is

Well once Cutler gets there we may have a better read on him too. So far he's only been involved in two games and he couldn't finish the second so we don't have much to go by do we?
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Did I say anything about Cutler not showing up? No. But Flacco CAN make winning drives in the playoffs. It is the KNOWN vs. the UNKNOWN.

It's also the difference between what the bears have, and what they don't.... Just an observation, not trying to be a jerk.

That being said, Flacco is likely playing at his ability, Cutler still has upside left that has yet to be reached.

Flacco has been operating in the same system, on the same team for a number of years now. Jay has constantly changed systems, and for a number of years has not had weapons or an O-Line.

For me, all the evidence has yet to be submitted.

Fair enough, but what if he fails in the new offense as well? Will this still not be a fair comparison?

It is possible that Jay may be one of those types that thinks that he knows better then his coaches. If he not able to be coached, then he may very well be at the limit of his ability as well....

I would prefer to give Jay at least 2 seasons (Keep in mind how much better Jay was in his second year in Martzs' system) in the same offensive system before coming to a decision.

This year (or two) would actually be needed to get the O-Line up to speed anyway.

My belief is that there are too many offensive problems (o-line, coaching, receivers dropping balls) affecting Jays' ability to perform as a QB to get an accurate assessment of any QB running the Bears offense. Should the problems be fixed, then we will have the ability to assess Cutler or any other QB we put on the field. This would make for a much easier Cutler vs. (insert QB of your choice here) debates.

I'm not saying that Cutler is the problem, or the solution. I'm saying that I can't figure that out, and why I'm unable to do so.

To answer your question Benjamin, if the O-line is fixed, and Jay is still struggling in his second year in the same system, then the comparison becomes more valid.

Well also it is about coming down in the clutch. Like Flacco has the past couple of games where it needed to be counted. It is also about coming down in the clutch. As if Jay can hopefulliy work in the new system and with the right OC players. Then who knows? What will happen with the Bears in 2013!

Ok going with that if you have a choice between Andrew Luck and Joe Flacco who do pick? That's a known vs and unknown too so why not ask who someone would choose between those two. Sorry but your comparison isn't valid and anyone who take Flacco over Luck is an idiot.
