Didn't Carimi come into training camp lean and with a low body fat count? I can seeing be low on the weight to help then knee, but shouldn't linemen have alittle weight, bulk?

Yeah, Lovie knows offense. Sort of like how a deep sea fish knows sunburns. It's really hard to fairly evaluate "disappointing players" on offense last year (Cutler, Bennett, Forte, ERod, Bush, etc) because the supporting cast on the field and on the sidelines was so bad. There's fair criticism for many of them but its tempered by the fact that their coaching staff blew chunks from top to bottom. Thank God we cleaned house there. The only ones I can't give any kind of "pass" to are Hester and KDavis. They just plain suck all on their own.
Gee, I'm shocked that none of our O coaches from HC on down got jobs anywhere yet...
Carimi, Jeffery and Cutler.
I think Carimi will be better, at least average next year. Dude was playing on one leg this whole season.
Jeffery is gonna do great next year (I wouldn't call him a "disappointment" but he's gonna improve) just because he's gonna be training with BMarsh during the whole off-season. Those PI calls on him will disappear.
Hester is a big question mark and I hope he does bounce back as a return man if they keep him...definitely want him having no part of the offense though.
Cutler will have to prove himself this year if he wants that long extension.
Obviously I disagree with you, Jay might not of had a great year, but it was far from a disappointing year. Carimi had a disppointing year I think he will become a far better tackle in 2013. As for Davis I don't even see him on this team next year, way too much money for what he can't do on the field.
Yeah I'd agree with you JJ. You can't really call Cutler a disappointment. Playing in that offense behind that line the fact that he even finished the season standing up should be considered a positive.
Most disappointing? I'd say Carimi heads the list followed by Davis. But Carimi has an excuse, or at least I'll provide him with one, and he deserves to return and prove he's a lot better than he showed last year. Davis on the other hand has NO excuse. He got a big contract and then immediately forgot how to catch a football. So long Kellen. You're not even worth $1 mil a year let alone $2 mil or more. I backed him early in the season but by game 16 I thought he was the most miserable failure on the entire offense. He needs to go.
Other than that several other disappointments could be blamed on injuries so I won't hold a player responsible for that when we know that guy can play when healthy. Bennett, Jeffery, Forte, Bush all might have had better numbers if they hadn't missed games but they're all productive players and I won't give them demerit points for getting dinged up.
Cambell was disappointing but even more so because Tice was miles beyond just disappointing. His first and probably only season as an OC reminds me of the punch line of an old joke where a preacher loses his organist so he asks a member of the congregation to accompany the hymns on his piccolo and he is bad, just soooooooo bad that someone yells out, "that piccolo player is a motherfucker". The preacher stops the singing and ask who yelled that out and one little guys stands up and says "It wasn't me who said that, it really wasn't, but what I'd like to know is whoever called that motherfucker a piccolo player". :twap:
So that what I want to know. Whoever called Tice and OC? Thank God we're movin' on. :bannana:
