Wait, what? 50 sacks in TWO years? How... how is that possible? A stat like that only exists in dreams. Or legend.

Thanks sox. I knew what the differences were but not how to describe them as well. I'm not certain if this is a direct correlation to Kromer's scheme or not but from watching the Broncos run successfully behind what described as their "zone blocking" schemes for years isn't what Kromer runs similar?
From my observations that the kind of blocking scheme that a back like Forte needs to be most effective. It creates space and leaves gaps and the back simply needs to read where that gap is make his one cut and hit that hole. That's a much better fit for Forte's running style in my opinion. He's most effective when he has room to accelerate and use cutback lanes or dip to the outside. He's not a N/S power runner like Bush is.

I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

just imagine what we could do with more than 2 WRs on the field cause the other players are Cutler or guy who have to block

This is the secondary cause of our offensive woes lately, IMO. Our O-line was so bad we had to max protect every play, and there weren't enough guys running routes downfield to spread the D.

Ah, logic. Such thought does explain why Cutler so often forced the ball to Marshall. ALL receivers are covered so throw to the guy who DESPITE being covered has a good chance of making a catch.

It's no secret that our constant need to "max protect" limited pass receiving options. Heck, there were plays we actually ran in which Marshall was literally the only receiver running out more than 5 yards past the LoS. And its no secret that, with AJ & Bennett out hurt a lot, that Marshall was pretty much the only guy Jay trusted at all. He clearly had zero confidence in Davis or Hester by the second half of the year and with good reason.
