29 is not old for an offensive lineman. He should have a number of years left, of solid play. Also, if we finally have decent oline coaches now, then we should be able to develop solid young talent. This way we'll have a young group of OL being groomed to step up in future seasons if needed (and at least be solid backups if needed in the meantime).
I'm not talking about pixie dust coaches, and coaches who "develop" the 32nd ranked olines. But guys who can actually coach guys up, and put a great offensive line in front of Cutler & Forte.
