Probably vet minimum and he'd most likely take it since Minny cut him and we brought him back into the league for a paycheck again. He's not gonna get much in the way of offers from anyone else. He's not starting CB material.

He and McManis are ST standouts and this kid Joe Anderson deserves a long look too. You dust Weems and you can pretty much cover both Bowman and Anderson and get a #5 WR out of it to boot.

Id definitely be in favor of that scenario. I thought it was really dumb that we had 2 "WRs" on the roster who were ST players only for all practical purposes. And a 3rd (Sanz) that was never used to boot. No wonder Marshall was calling for Joe Anderson to be brought up from the PS. Let's keep Weems OR Hester, not both please. Give Anderson a shot at seeing the field on O a little. And draft a speed guy in 4 or 5.

    Marshall - Jeffery - Bennett - draft pick - Anderson/Tolliver - Weems/Hester

    looks pretty good to me

The whole article was about "starting here", meaning who would you keep from the current roster. So that is all I addressed.

And if I was supposed to elaborate, there are many more positions to fill outside of QB with all the folks I would let go.

But, to answer your question, I've said in other places that I don't like McCown or Campbell enough to pay them to be here. I would likely shop the F/A market for a vet backup, ala Matt Moore.

And that makes as much sense or more than either of the other two if he's interested in us and we're interested in him. Frankly I'm gonna trust Emery and Trestman to know who they need and as far as I'm concerned anybody with a reasonable resume and some games under his belt will do.

Nobody we bring in as a #2 will do us much good if he ends up as unprepared as Tice left Campbell last year.
