Too bad we didn't at least get a sandwich out of him.
I don't think it was on purpose but his blocking schemes based on the type of lineman had and the style of his #1 RB was all wrong. That's one reason why our running game struggled early last season.
Tice wanted to run and man power blocking scheme and CWill didn't fit that as an OG so it had less to do with reality and a lot more to do with Tice's perceptions but now he's history and so is CWill unless he gets cut elsewhere.
I think he may be a much better fit for what Kromer will run but still OGs are out there and it's not like the guy was irreplaceable. He got a raw deal in Chicago and sometimes a clean start elsewhere is better for him.
We couldn't have traded him anyway. Nobody is gone give you a thing for a backup OG on one of the worst lines in the NFL. His market value was zip.

If komer has a couple of dogs and has trained them then I am sure he can train Webb. When you train a dog you give them a treat every time they get something right, with Webb you give him a taco. Of course I have no idea how old the first taco will be when he gets somethig right my guess is at least a month. Too bad we can't use a newspaper it might work better.

Yeah we need a LT, but G and C are as big if not bigger needs
No reason to reach on a tackle if we have better IOL on the board

Oh I don't think Emery will buy into that a second time mo. Fool me once shame on you but with him not a second time. He's gonna add some players to that line one way or another.
Webb is gonna hit a wall somewhere. We all know that. The only question is where? How much better can he get? One way or another we either replace him with a vet or get him serious competition from a rookie LT. Not the lay down phony ass crap game Tice played last year.
Webb needs to be pushed and pushed hard either out of LT and into competition with Carimi at RT or by another LT. That's gonna happen. I'm looking more at Kromer getting Carimi back on track and seeing what we have in this kid James Brown. Those are the young guys who need some serious coaching and development. Louis will benefit too once he returns.
I don't care about Spencer, he should be gone anyway, or Garza who is about at the end of his career anyway. We've invested some time and a high draft pick in Carimi and above all we need him to be the player we drafted him to be. Webb is Webb and all we're ever gonna be able to expect out of him is some decently consistent play if Kromer can find a way to get him focused on his game. If the kid doesn't keep improving this is his last year in Chicago anyway.

Kromer as going to have some talent in need of coaching to work with with Webb carimi brown Louis and whoever we draft (assuming we do)
Ill be excited to see what he can do but as far as Webb I'm hoping for him to wake up now that his security blanket is gone. If he does end up the starter he MUST improve and become more consistent if we are going to do anything of offense

If Emery is seriously considering a LT either in FA or the draft I believe we already know the answer to the question how much better can Webb get. He only improved a handful of spots w/all the help he received. He's better suited to swing-tackle or RT. This guy has gotten enough chances already. Scheme or no scheme, guru or no guru Webb's I.Q. just isn't going to take a quantum leap.
I don't care about Spencer either. Get rid of him to save cap space. I think Garza is done and wouldn't be miffed if we moved on from him.

Now to be fair, this is the LAST year Webb has to improve (weather or not he's starting) he shows what he's shown the last 3 years I don't think he'll be resigned
A bigger issue IMO is carimi improving if he flops again we are faced with the reality of needing 4 new personel on the line

I agree shorty but there's no assurance that a rookie would outplay him right away either. The only and I mean the ONLY way we can be assured of improving on Webb is with a vet who's better than he is. Otherwise it's still a roll of the dice and the guy you draft who may become your best LT may not be as prepared to do that immediately as another but he'll have far more upside.
This is one of those Plan A/Plan B kind of things because LTs that are worth much aren't easy to come by in FA.
