What we have here is "availability vs. choice". It may be available when they are 8 or 10, but if they are choosing to watch it (and at that age, someone is letting them) is another thing. That "choice" is what the parents can influence. You need to control, as much as you can, availability until you get a chance to talk to them about right/wrong and the choices they make. You can get PPV on your cable box now... hopefully you have a pin, or lock, on those channels to prevent younger children from watching inappropriate matter.

Yea, I know... sometimes kids do whatever they want no matter what you tell them. Contrary to what society tells us, I believe this to be the exception not the rule. I firmly believe that kids today are more a reflection of their parents, and how they were raised, then a reflection of society. Sure, society seems to try and screw us up at every turn, but we are the one's who have the responsibility to mold our offspring.

Full Disclosure: Both my kids are grown, with kids of their own. I'm not trying to mold two young girls in today's society where something such as a "slut walk" is considered acceptable or "empowering". I feel for today's parents because I know society doesn't help, but on the other hand I'm not a big believer in the "it takes a village" theory that everyone needs to be involved either.

That train has left the station. You should begin searching the want-ads for a Gran Torino.

Alright, I'm no prude, but seriously what the hell was with the Go Daddy commercial? That was freaking disgusting. At least with Beyonce it was tolerable and kids like her. But no one watches the game to see a close up of two people eating each others' faces and to hear the gross slurping noises. It was incredibly awkward watching that with my parents and little brother. Lol

Ok now I get it , "Should the NFL be for adults only?" I said yes after Wilber Marshall put the hit on that 6 year old that tried to run the ball for the Lions.

That kid was never the same.

Ratings ! Third highest viewed TV show ever ? Tells you all you need to know.

For the GoDaddy ad which was gross ... there was the Paul Harvey ad about farmers which was great.

Jimmors the beer ads followed by car ads was followed by Doritos ads. Eat food to soak up the beer before you drive.

NFL and CBS always watchful public guardians.

Who really sues a tv station for showing free nipples at halftime show? I bet it's does over protection parrents but what they just forgot is that this is 2013 and we got unlimted internet..Even back then when it happened it only took you few secs to see such things.. I hoped Beyonce would do something like that this year then the halftime show would have been worth watching..
you didn't like it? I was glad they replayed it in Germany during the power outage. Hell, German TV coverage was great, too bad the announcers/TV guys had to explain a lot about football - which sucked. Watched the 1st quarter with the US coverage of the game and after that I switched to the german. Hell, it was great after the game. That interviewer was on the field and he managed to interview John Harbaugh & Dennis Pitta. A YT would be funny, not what you US guys are used to

When Lewis gave his first interview, he just hold the mic over 3 people and always yelled at Ray to look at him :-D

That's pretty cool TV coverage, Danish tellyvision just had one reporter at the stadium but we were able to get live pictures from him doing the power outage. Was quite funny as there was a lot of laugh about how the biggest one day event had no power and millions were watching etc. etc.

And indeed I think this goes for many if not all TV stations that they have to explain the simple rules in the NFL. I know that many from my student class only watch one game of NFL a year the SB and they don't understand shit. It kinda sucks for all us that knows about the rules and are more interested in the nerdy stuff but what can ya do.

Did they replay this years SB halftime show or did they replay the SB with Janet Jacksons nipples? This must be the worst halftime show I've seen..

Ha by the way have you guys heard that the PTC that are probably going to sue CBS because Flacco said fucking after they won the SB? That is just well.. I don't have words for that. Those PTC mums reminds me of Kyle's mum in the South Park movie.

I understand your revulsion/annoyance to certain commercials, but it is not systemic to the NFL ( we almost never see commercials like these, during a regular season game), but rather the American drive to make a buck anyway they (marketers for companies) can - when you have, in principal, an audience held hostage (Super Bowl, World Series, mega blockbuster movie premier, etc.,).

As long as we (the audience) tune in, advertising companies will continue to vie for our attention - taste be damned.
