I read this on ESPN sports and found it to read real funny, see what you think. They were taking a GB TE Finley.
Finley, 25, had a bit of a disappointing season in 2012, catching 61 passes for 667 yards and two touchdowns. He has 64 receptions for 2,485 yards and 17 TDs in three seasons.
Well they need to have someone edit those stats that's for sure. He didn't have 3 receptions for 1818 yards prior to that. It should read "in the three prior seasons".Quote:

Most of the rest of the really good WRs in the CFL would probably be considered too old for a shot at the NFL. There aren't too many instant stars in the CFL like Cameron Wake - Williams is one.
"Tiny but Mighty" huh Bill. His 5'9" doesn't concern me but his 155lbs does a little. Even this kid Trindon Holliday the Broncos have packs 170lb on 5'5". It's tough to figure whether a kid like Williams could hold up in the NFL. He's mighty light.Quote:

He's proved to be pretty rugged so far despite being so light. He's playing special teams plus he's a starting WR so he's on the field a lot. Keep in mind that all punts and missed field goals that stay in bounds must be played (no fair catch etc.) so he's taking more abuse as a returner in the CFL than he would in the NFL. Getting hit by a 200+ pounder, who's arriving with attitude, hurts in either league. :smile: Can't find the stats, but I don't think he's missed a game in two years.Quote:

As far as picking up other players, it'll be interesting to see if the Bears buck the usual NFL trend of only picking the young CFL stars. For example, when the Vikings picked Emmanuel Arceneaux from the B.C. Lions, he was third on the Lions receiver depth chart. The guys ahead of him were definitely better than Arceneaux, but older as well. There are plenty of guys in the CFL who are good enough to play in the NFL, but the NFL scouts view them as being past their "best by" date. It'll be interesting to see if the Trestman lead Bears take a different approach.
I'd pass on Finley. Makes too much $$$$.
