Another player to scratch off the draft boards...
Alec Ogletree
After a positive drug test, gun charges and now this DUI, he's probably gonna be available at 20, but we don't need another tank johnson/Cedric Benson/Sam Hurd. Let's just pass on a linebacker with the first, because odds are, Te'o's stock is gonna rise now.

Well even if both of them are available at #20 you still need an oline to win SB. I'm gonna pass on both of them in exchange of a starting Oline draft pick. We have had a good defense in the last years but a not so great offense(Oline) and where have that exactly gotten us? Time for a change..

Typical college thug with all the talent in the world but continues to make stupid choices. Looks like the Lions just found their guy.

how stupid... guy is weeks before the draft, the most important day of his life so far and does shit like this. Cross him off your lists, we don't need stupid players.

He is a solid pick to replace Urlacher, and if there is any doubt about his health, a replacement must be found ASAP.

Henry, I thought the exact same thing. It would be similar to drafting a guy with multiple/serious injury issues - risky to the max.
We don't need to risk our precious 1st round draft pick like this. Get a solid guy we can count on.
Trestman - Kromer - Tucker - DeCamillis
I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.

That's a damn shame, he's a solid player but stupid is as stupid does, and it speaks volumes about his level of stupid.

Funny, I just finished reading a story from the front page about Jerry Angelo's blogging. In his blogs, Angelo has indicated that he grades a number of things, but heavily weights character in the early rounds. He then says that he will wave the character issue after the 4th round.
So, essentially, everyone knows he sucked at drafting in the early rounds (perhaps because he weighted character too heavily), but was decent in the late rounds (when he overlooked character).
I'll tell ya, as someone who watches Georgia football almost every week during the college season, Ogletree is a hell of a player. Word is that he has entourage issues. So the big question is will he bring his entourage to the NFL.
If so, then we pass on him until his value is so clearly above the current draft position you can't help yourself. If not, then he is worth the risk. Ray Lewis had entourage issues. Let's just hope no one ends up dead.
Personally, I wouldn't take him @ #20, but I'd have a hard time passing him up in the second round.

I couldn't imagine a rookie's entourage getting to hang around when we our HC had to wait since the early to mid 80s to finally get his crack as an NFL HC, and (at least if i were in charge), I couldn't see Trestman allowing a headache like that to brew, if they took a flier on the guy early. Either way, no x 100000000 in the first, but I would feel comfortable taking him if we had a third. I still wouldn't waste one of our first two on a guy who may not see the field much because of stupidity

I see your point Henry, but still we didn't win any SB with Urlacher. I think we just try to balance the offense and defense, and right now the offense needs more draft picks than the defense. The pick would make more sense with Lovie around but we got Trestman as HC who is offensive minded. Oline this year MLB next year.
