Sox follows college football with the zeal of pro scouts so he has a pretty good handle on most of these guys. I watch a little but for the most part all I really have time for is to look at some post season highlight vids of some of these guys which is why I don't have much knowledge of the mid round guys.

NFP and a few other draft gurus put out stuff to read and from that a guy can get some reasonable ideas about the higher ranked guys and where they might fall in the scheme of things but for me that's it. I have no idea what QB we should draft later in this draft or anyone else for that matter.

Oh horse shit! When you have two top 20 OGs like Warmack and Cooper on the board when you pick and you need lineman if you can't get a LT you take one. You don't trade down. End of story. Maybe you should read Dan Pompei's mailbag and look at who we got for trading out of the pick that Washington used to take Champ Bailey. The list is headed by Cade McClown.

And after that you a few more 2nd tier guys who'd make good second round picks as well. The OLine depth in this draft is in those first two rounds and after that the talent falls off as far as lineman go and there's better depth a LB later on than on the OLine.

Give me two solid starters in the first two rounds and I'll live without that third round pick or all the extra fourth, fifths, or sixths anyone cares to toss in. This is a great draft to be sitting at #20 and #50.

This statement makes absolutely no sinse. Warmack is going to be a very good starter year one, your telling me because he plays gaurd that he wouldn't be worth a first round pick.

I can't understand this logic that G and C are positions that don't really matter. Warmack would prolly be in competition for our best linemen year one. He could be a rock for years to come. I don't care what position you play, to say someone of this talent isn't worth a first round pick is just a senseless statement

I beg to differ here, WE NEED BARRETT JONES, his athletic-ness, his leadership and size all make great characteristics of what we need! Ill still take him in the 2nd round so again #61 in the prospect list has my eyes all over him, that kid will be special. As for the OG i agree that can be picked up later int he draft, But again to get Te'o and Jones would really rattle the NFL and show emery is trying to help both sides of the ball early

Save your breath Grizz. Ric and a few others are convinced we should trade down which is kind of funny since the same guy who think we should pass on OGs this year are the ones the bitched loudest over passing up DeCastro or Reiff for McClellin last year.

I didn't say they weren't wroth a 1st round pick; but when you need other positions that are not found(historically) in the 2nd-3rd-4th rounds(like mlb) then I see no reason to take G over that position.

Now if you say that the MLB's at 20 are not worth taking, I'm not going to disagree, I only really liked Ogletree and w/his problems recently no thanks, then move back later into the first, still grab the G(none are epxected to be taken after the Bears pick 20, and if that changes then obviously my opinion will also) and gain extra picks, and that same player.

The idea that only the top 2 or 3 G's in this draft can only be the ones that can anchor/a OL for the next 10 years just rings false to me b/c historically speaking G's in the mid rounds also are playing that at that high level in the NFL(top 10 talent); and this draft is considered OL deep, so why is it looked at differently?

G'bye Ric. I'm done talking about it. I'm more than content to see what Emery thinks because what you and I think means nothing. There are enough good lineman that I'm satisfied we'll find the right guy for us.
