That trade is more of a lasting image that Cutler ignoring Tice. One of the Bear things that still makes me grate my teeth when I think of Martz.
And Olsen still has 3 years remaining on his current contract with the Panthers, so if anyone is thinking of suggeting...

It was utter madness to run him out of Chicago.
Olsen had a real solid year this season. He was a top-5 TE. He had over 800 yards receiving, averaging over 12 yards per catch. He's only 27 years old, so he's going to be a solid TE for many years to come.
Trestman - Kromer - Tucker - DeCamillis
I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.

And the prediction that Martz made about Roy "mittens" Williams catching something like 60 balls was sickening. Everyone knew that was never going to happen yet they foisted that upon us week after flamin' week.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.
Restore the roar!

If we have a very good free agent period on the OL and come away with a starting calibre OT and OG then we could do a number of things.
Trestman wants to great levels and mismatches on offense and to do that the middle and deep middle need to be consistently threatened.
If I signed Bushrod and Matt Slauson I would be okay with TE in the 1st because my OL would be
LT: Bushrod
LG. Slauson
C: Garza
RG: Louis
RT. Webb/Carimi
That is a solid, competent line that is a huge improvement from last season.

With 2 quality FA signings, then yes we could hold off on OL rd 1. Always leaves the possibility of Jones falling to 50 or the behemoth Warford that Trestman likes to use to stonewall those short sets at OG
Even if that is the case, I think TE round one is a serious longshot, more likely olgetree

Character is important to Emery and Trestman and Ogeltree is a train wreck in that delartment.
Keep in mind our defense was dominant last season with half of Brian Urlacher and Nick Roach at MLB. We might not need a star at MLB to be successful.

We don't and effiert may very well be an option in that situation. Just not sure we can adress TE via FA and or mid-late pick

This is also the time of the year to blow smoke up everyone else's ***, so take what Trestman said with a grain of salt. Obviously it's not the highest priority, but if they can fix it, they will; every te on the roster proved their uselessness in any number of ways, so yeah, we're getting a new TE, even if it's not in rounds 1-2.
