I hope there is a way we can end up with Minter in the 2nd... that would be perfect value.

Te'o is a fit for the Bears, if it would be wise to take him or not is a different story.
Ogletree is stupid. I don't want stupid players on our team. Already have Hester

If he actually WAS innocent, then you would also assume that he would be fighting that charge tooth and nail right now
Now I'll tell you why I won't wear that badge you suggest we all should if we're charged with a DUI.

I was once charged with a DUI sitting in my car in the parking lot of my former girlfriends apartment. I'd had a single drink before I went down to the car to wait out a bitch fit she seemed determined to pitch my way. Let's call it a time out to avoid a major domestic disturbance.

Someone must have reported hearing her yelling and throwing stuff so when the cops came they figured they had a DV situation going but they didn't. Can't have a fight with only one person and I wasn't in the apartment. They suspected she'd been drinking and assumed I had to so they came to my car and arrested me on suspicion of a DUI when I refused a field breathalyzer and that was their right.

When they took me to jail I still refused the breathalyzer and asked for a blood test. They're more accurate. I was booked and held in jail until I posted bail but the results of my blood test showed a BAC of .00138. Not even enough for a .004 DWI yet they refused to drop the charges and said that proved that I was still impaired and offered to reduce the DUI to a DWI. So I had to to take it to court about a year later to try and get it dismissed.

Keep in mind that my car never even moved one foot after I got in it but just the fact that I was sitting in it with the keys in the ignition was under Colorado Law enough to establish intent to drive. LOL Some law huh? Now they can predict crime just like The Minority Report. So I never accept these DUI deals at face value. Laws vary from state to state and even though my case was dismissed my arrest record will still show that I was charged but you can go screw yourself for that badge you think I should wear because of it.

I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

And thats fine, im not angry with DUIs because its illegal, im angry at them because of the INTENT behind them. If a person wants to put their own life at risk, then have at it...i wont stop em. But when someone gets behind the wheel drunk, they put OTHER people's lives at risk, which is unacceptable.

So yeah, you got dicked by the cops, and i dont have a problem with you since you werent driving, your INTENT was not to drive so its not an issue. Plus you had the charges dismissed. And if this kid in some strange coincidence has a similar story, then fine...its a case of cops being dicks. However, from my own experience, people who get DUIs do not have an isolated instance. A DUI is usually just the first time they were actually CAUGHT, and they usually drive drunk frequently, they just dont get caught until they do. The more they drive drunk, the more likely they WILL end up hurting/killing someone, its only a matter of time.

We basically have two different perspectives on this..you see it through your own eyes and what happened to you, i see it through mine.

His senior year shows what a good player he can be; he made a tonne of plays for Notre Dame on their way to the national championship. Regardless of the Catfish scandal, he should be judged on the tape and his Combine performance.

Down at the One - Where might Manti Te

That is what people are judging him on. Unfortunately for him, that means his tape against Bama and his Combine performance.

Again people are judging these ahtletes like they are normal college kids. Ogletree has known he could potentially play in the NFL for years, his whole job in college should have been making sure that doesn't get screwed up; and getting a DUI and smoking pot and theft are all decisions showing he has, in the past, had very poor judgment issues; and for a MLB that is a big negative.

I knew a ton of goofballs in college; spent all 4 years being a dumbass and doing shit they shouldn't. I also knew a lot of guys that had bigger plans then some middle road jockey job and those guys rarely did anything stupid ever, let alone 3-4 years into college.

This guy has known future had the potential to net millions; if not 10's of millions and he's risking smoking pot and a DUI? That is stupid; as stupid as it comes. Maybe he grows up and learns from this; maybe getting drafted by the right team will force him to change; maybe getting drafted only reinforces this ignorance and poor judgement. But that is for the scouts and GM's/Coaches to determine for themselves; and all of us are just speculating what we would do. Neither opinion is really wrong.
