Besides, during the off season, it's the same stuff getting written about the Bears by the sports guys. A bit of levity never hurt anyone

it's all good, I'm just getting tired of the over zealousness of Cutler defenders who act like any question against him is akin to raping their child.

There is a double standard when it comes to the media and their portrayal of Manning/Brady/Cutler. To use your analogy, I get tired of all the Manning/Brady defenders who act like either one could rape a child without question just because they are "elite" QBs who have won a super bowl.

There is a double standard b/c elite guys get to do different things then average guys...that is just as true in the real world as it is in the sports world. if you are the best at what you do then you get treated differently. And guess what Manning got a lot of heat(both of them) until winning a SB, and Eli got a lot of heat up until he got his 2nd.
It's not just Cutler who gets critisied. But when you are a 10-15 guy, you don't get the leway as a top 5 guy. They aren't even playing the same position. Like I pointed out earlier, US pres gets to act differnetly then the Albanian President....but both are presidents. Is it fair? No, but that is the divide between the Most powerfull guy and a average joe. Same w/Brady/Manning and Cutler.

Well bruh, you just made the point that we as "Cutler defenders" suggest. Fairness. So why do you get upset when when we argue in FAVOR of fairness. Shouldn't we ALL be in favor of fairness? We understand the realities of the world just as well as you do, and we know there are many things in life that are unfair (I'm living a BIG one right now), but that doesn't mean I'm gonna just sit and say nothing about it. I know I can't change much in this world, but when I see someone getting shit on, I usually say something about it.

There is no fairness. you shouldn't ask for it, or expect it, b/c you will not get it; fairness is a myth; like the female orgasm. 2 things would allow Cutler a pass by the press, 1, not be a shithead, or 2, win big games and make deep playoff runs; he's done neither.
I'm not saying he's getting a fair deal, but he's getting what other pro athletes get of the same quality, and same lack of post game wins.
I have no problems w/Cutler as a qb, I have stated multiple times he has the tools to win; it's a case of the head is not on right, and that's just coaching/OL...part of that is him. There is no reason someone shouldn't be able to question, and make valid arguments about Cutler w/out being critisied, and yet time and again any article posted, or fan posting something all but laughed off b/c of ignorance or bias or whatever; and it's simply not the case; the whole sports media world is not out against Culter for the sake of being out against him...that's 911 quality tin hat conspiracy theorist.
Not your job to defend Cutler anyhow, again when's the last time you heard him bitch about his lot in life; or the press? Can think of 2 times, after the trade rumors in Den got out; and MJD calling him out w/a bum knee. He's got no problems w/the media why should you? Simple rule in life, don't feel sorry for people wealthier, healthier, and better looking then you. And I bet Cutler has all 3 of those in spades to the jocks on this site.

The media hasn't fabricated one issue from Cutler; it's all one Cutler alone. And they have, as of the last two years completely reversed the he's not tough enough crap that MJD started and has talked about how tough he is b/c of the hits he takes. Again Cutler is his own worst enemy, he doesn't act like a jag, he's not treated like one.
You missed the point that he did the same thing w/Martz. Just b/c it starts well w/Cutty doesn't mean it ends well. He wasn't happy at the end of RT's run and was excited about Martz, then it was FU martz. But w/all that he had the most influence...this time he won't
I call PK trash reporting (funny, as soon as I got off the comp earlier and turned the radio on , he was babbling on Colin Cowherd's show about Derrell Revis), because SO MUCH of what he says is simply stupid. I may be biased beyond all hell to avoid the good things he says, but my original point about this article was that he was talking as if he were making stuff up as he was going along, and not giving any real sources, which is too easy to do these days.
I disagree here, slightly. I think that everything that happened in the past, whether he was right or wrong, has set the mold on how the media treats him. The 2011 season DID show the media respects him as a player, but just because he starts winning doesn't mean they're gonna change their opinions on him
No, I got it completely, but after suffering so many sacks in a system that has a high sack rate, but failed to deliver the points, I can't see WHY he wouldn't change his tune. Dude is brutally honest, but in a way that shows his only concern is playing good football (unlike Rex, who just wanted to party, rather than beat the Packers on NYE). Also, of course he's not gonna have as much leeway with this regime, because he was Angelo and Lovie's guy; the new regime isn't tied to him the same way the last one was, so naturally they are gonna have more leeway with personnel at the QB position. I would also like to add that Cutler's main influences were to fire Martz and get some damn WR's, so I don't think they're going to ignore what he has to say, as long as it's constructive. Honestly, the good stuff he does, even if it makes him look bad, is swept under the table.
EDIT: Ric, this has nothing to do with what you said, other than MJD bringing it up, so this really has nothing to do with our debate here: MJD got into a bit of a scuff with his owner, after the guy called him out. He didn't say anything in response, but the rest of what he's had in the press seems to be hypocritical (how's he gonna call out Jay for getting injured, and then do it himself? lol)
