Just when my hopes were getting up, Webb lets another charge get by him.

    Nolle prosequi

Reason The declaration may be made because the charges cannot be proved due to evidence too weak to carry the burden of proof, because the evidence is fatally flawed in light of the claims brought, or may be made if the prosecutor becomes doubtful the accused is guilty or the defendant's innocence is proved, or if the defendant has died.

Legal effect A withdrawal of the original claim by way of nolle prosequi is not an adjudication on the merits of the claim and thus in a criminal case is not a guarantee that the defendant will not be later re-indicted. The entry of a nolle prosequi as a disposition is, by itself, not an adjudication on the merits of the prosecution or on the guilt or innocence of the accused, and the legal protection against double jeopardy will not automatically bar the charges from being brought again.

It makes you wonder. I wonder if he's even keeping in shape. I've been following him a bit on Twitter. It sounds like he just drives around the country in his truck and eats a lot of junk food. Seriously.

A team's starting LT is a key position on a team. The team needs to be able to count on him. I have to wonder if this is a guy we really want to have as the cornerstone of our offensive line. The oline situation is pretty disappointing.
    Go Bears!

Seeing how this is his first offense, and he'll be able to afford a good lawyer, I'd be surprised if anything serious other than probation comes as a result. That has nothing to do with him being a football player. Even so, he of all highly publicized Bears players shouldn't put himself in such a position, and certainly shouldn't again, unless he starts kicking ass next year.

I wonder what Jay thinks of this.. Putting his life and carrer in the hands of Webb he is damn brave for doing so. Seriously, no matter what draft pick Angelo have made this has got to be the worst, I'm just so sick of Webb. Could he be a good starting LT? Sure if he did put effort into it, but he isn't and the sad thing is there is many people out there, that would like to get the chance he have gotten and actually wants to improve..

And the sad thing is that we are most likely gonna stick with him for another hole season. I'd hate to be Cutler..
    Oderint dum metuant.

He's free and clear on the charge Henry. So he doesn't have to worry now. I expect Trestman will have a heart to heart talk with him, especially since this will be a contract year for Webb (I think).

He just isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. We all knew that. It's disappointing.
    Go Bears!
