I wonder what Cutler would think, if this were up to him. Would he want that stud OL guy who can help protect him, or would he want a high-powered weapon like this (to replace the horrific TE we have now)?

I'm still thinking we can get a solid veteran TE in FA, and not break the bank. But I gotta admit I'd love to have this guy in a Bears uni. But you can't have it all. Go oline in the draft, TE in FA.

    Trestman - Kromer - Tucker - DeCamillis

I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.

I agree. They should only draft this guy if they're convinced he's the next "big thing" at TE. If he's not, then I would just get Dustin Keller, who only had 7 more catches than Kellen Davis (26), but anyone alive would know that wasn't his fault at all.

EDIT: I would also be happy if they got Jermichael Finley at a reasonable price. Hell, if they could get 'em both, that would be perfect.

All I know is that, if they pick a DL in the first, then either Angelo has blackmail photographs of Michael McCaskey and a goat, or Virigina's been making the 1st round picks all along.

Thank you! I haven't seen a Bear as over-rated by fans since Thomas Jones. I still chuckle thinking about how people classified TJ as a power runner. Don't get me wrong, Olsen is still better than the garbage we have now, but he wasn't the God that some make him to be. I believe the Greg Olsen trade yielded one of the two-third rounders that got us Brandon Marshall. Would I trade Greg Olsen and a 3rd rounder for Brandon Marshall? In a god damned blink of an eye, yes I would.

It's interesting to think about all the possibilities in the draft. With that being said it's easier to resurrect the TE corps than the WR's at this point. Dump the chump that is Kellen Davis, grab a decent FA and draft a TE. Doesn't have to be a #1 and can be far more efficient and address the o line.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

Its not that people are making Olsen out as some kind of "god," its just that he was a good receiving TE, and JA just dumped him cuz he didnt fit into Martz's scheme. And any of us wold take Olsen over Martz in that same blink of an eye.
    I'm trying//to let go//of maybe//but maybe's just so//very interesting//Oh, what a thing.

just wait a few more days and you know what'll happen.

I'd like the idea of going hard after 2 OL in Free Agency & TE in Free Agency. Draft D in Round 1 & 2. OL will get much improved via Free Agency. That's the better chance to be successful this offseason when it comes to upgrading the OL. Same with TE. they take some time to develop and get used to the NFL.

What FAs would you take on the OL...lev and bushrod? No way that works cap wise and anything else just getting bandaide OL and neglecting the offense in favor of defensive depth is the lovie/JA approach that had worked oh so well....

New regime I think we will see a complete difference in how we draft, much more offensive heavy drafts until Trestman is content and our offense relevant

I don't think Olsen was better then Dez Clark; sorry but Oslen was not the best TE we've had in decades. I wasn't hurt to see him traded, other then the fact they didn't try and replace him w/any talent. I know some thought that Davis would be it, but I never saw anything special about him.

And thank you for saying it Butka, TJ was WAY over rated by Bears fans. TJ, Benson, and our AP all averaged over 4ypc that year, and I think that Benson had as many TD's w/out as many touches. Benson wasnt a good replacement, but TJ wasn't worth resigning for any real money either.
