Izzy does not want to leave Chicago and he is a guy who will give a hometown discount to stick around.

Just a note, those 3 good years were with Pep on the other side.

true, but Izzy should be as smart as Luke says. Test the market and if a team desperate enough offers him double the money he will get from us, he will and should take it.

Izzy is 32 and is in a good spot to cash in, why would he give a home town discount?
You can see how highly PFF grades him. As a comparison, Jeremy Mincey singed a 4/20/9 mil guar
with lesser stats than Izzy, tho he is a couple years younger. I think theres a good chance that Izzy leaves, teams are always hurting for edge rushers and in his case a DT as well.

Because Izzy is ingrained in Chicago and his post football businesses and media opportunities are in Chicago. The guy is setting himself up to be the next Waddle/McMichael type guy who is involved in everything.
Last season he was a free agent and he stayed for 1 year 2.5 million.
It would take a lot of money to make him leave.

Not disputing what you're saying, Windy, and I hope you are right. He's a steal for a couple million so I hope he stays for another year or two.

So say the Cowboys offer Izzy a 3/15/6mil SB with a 2mil 2013 base salary and a 4mil cap hit.
You think he would actually pass up the 8mil and instead give the bears a home town discount of only 2.5mil?
Not bloody likely!

I do. He's 32 years old. I don't see anyone putting that kind of money on the table for a guy his age who's basically a rotational player and backup. He got $2.5 mil last year for a one year deal and I can't see anyone offering more and possibly less. With the exception of a few teams the cap is tight this year. The Cowboys are in worse shape than we are and just tagged Spencer. If there are players for Izzy I doubt it will be them.

I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.
