What will our record be this season?

Like MP is saying cuts don't create holes. Cut the unproductive, save the cap space, and perhaps grow younger and more talented in the process. Your also creating a culture of accountability, which is worth something (albeit abstractly) to send a message to the rest of the team.

We are in the top dozen in cap space. Cuts, restructuring, and some clever maneuver mean the future sure isn't bleak. I can't predict a record but I can say the arrow is pointing up.

I agree with all of this. I guess I'm saying that although the arrow is pointing up, we may not see instant gratification. We may not even see a 10 win season THIS year. I hope we do. But with this many changes, it may not be as easy of a transition as some of us think.

Consider also, while everyone is seeing the "sky falling" cap-wise, that Emery may very well be keeping his powder dry until he sees for sure who's going to be available in FA. In 24 hours we will know for sure who's tagged and who isn't and can go from there. Among TEs and OLs all we know at this moment is that Cook will (reportedly) be tagged and Levitre definitely won't (since Buffalo used theirs on Byrd). Tomorrow Emery will know exactly who is and who isn't. Chill out.
