The Bears have met with major Chicago businesses over the last month to sell naming rights to added space at their Lake Forest headquarters.

The team is soliciting a 10-year title sponsorship that is estimated to bring in anywhere from several hundreds of thousands of dollars up to $2 million annually, according to published reports.

But the name "Halas Hall" will not change, Bears spokesman Scott Hagel said. The price of the renovations is expected to run more than $20 million.

Other NFL teams, such as the Giants and Eagles, have sold naming rights for their entire practice facilities for more than $2 million a year.

The Bears do not own Soldier Field and therefore cannot sell the naming rights to the stadium. If the Bears strike a new naming rights deal for the renovated portions of Halas Hall, it will be the first naming rights deal in the team’s history.

That could be located next to the new classroom annex. It will be named after a former offensive genius - the Mike Martz Brain Fartz Annex...


I heard the new auditorium will be named after a former O-line wizard - the Tice Pixie Dust-atorium.


The new medical center will be home to The Sam Hurd Pharmacy.


This is fun, everybody jump in with a name for something. Or have I been breathing too much of Webb's second-hand smoke? Uhhh, Webb's Cigar Lounge?

Both Abbott Laboratories and Baxter Int. HQs are located in the North Shore area near Lake Forest.
