Valid points, Soul. I agree with you and have hope still for Carimi to be a long term starting RT. Not ready to give up on him at all yet. But....we do have to hedge our bets a little. He could flop again next year. He could (I hope not) turn out to be another JA injury OL bust.
We have 3 OTs with NFL experience--Webb, Carimi, and Scott who's a journeyman quality backup at best. He sucks, lets be honest. So unless we draft one (unlikely) its either Scott or another FA. Winston is a proven, quality RT and >>> Scott. If the price is right, he's worth a look. The way I see it, picking up one clear OL upgrade in FA (iow, someone head and shoulders better than Rachal/Spencer/Scott/Garza) makes it a helluva lot easier to justify drafting a LB in round 2.
