Stud: By his own admission, Eric Winston (+15.9) and the Chiefs fans didn’t exactly hit it off. While he wasn’t exactly perfect this year, he was the most balanced player they had on their line.
He instantly becomes the Bears best OLmen.
He solidifies the RT position.
He permantly moves the failures of Carimi/Scott to the bench.
Allows Webb more time to develop at LT.
This is a no brained considering he commands 4 million last season when he was a free agent.
@nfldraftscout: If true, Winston is one of the best offensive tackles on the market. Ranked No. 3 right tackle in #NFL1000 grades.
I was screaming for him last year when the Texans released him!!! Bears didn't even sniff him. Go get him Phil!!

Can he even play LT? One of my concerns is that although Webb has been injury free if we don't find another guy besides Scott who could play LT in an emergency we're awfully vulnerable there. If we spend money on an OT he needs to be more than just a RT.

Rather gamble on Carimi than signing Winston tbh
For the kind of money he'd probably go for, gotta say this is one very tempting possibility. He's a huge upgrade over Scott (and Carimi too if he doesn't step up his game big time) and would allow Emery to really focus on interior OL in the draft. This is worth a good hard look.Quote:
