If we end up with a rookie who could take his spot this year, and that's a big if, then maybe we have some money after the draft to find an OG whose fallen out of favor just as Scott did as an OT last year. It's always the same with any player you release or fail to re-sign. He still needs to be replaced now and that may or may not save to a dime and you may end up just as bad off or worse.
Garza really hasn't been an upgrade over Kruetz and Spencer did little or nothing. In hindsight for the money spent we'd have been better or keeping Kruetz, leaving Garza at OG and never signing Spencer at all. You can thank JA and his yes man personnel guy Tim Ruskell for that.
I agree. It's a tough situation.
I don't think Garza can play anymore. So IMHO, why keep a guy who can't play? I wouldn't even have him as a backup. He's that bad now. Of course that's just 1 fans opinion and I could easily be completely wrong. I'm so tired of seeing him get owned play-after-play. He can't run block. He can't pass block. If we just want an old geezer around to be a "veteran sage" then hire him as a coach. But his playing days should be over.

Not sure that Moore is still a possibility. Looks like he is seeing some action.

After leaving a visit with the Dolphins without a contract, free agent offensive lineman Brandon Moore has lined up a couple more visits.
Moore will visit the Cowboys and the Lions, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily Newsreports.
Although Moore is best known for being one half of Mark Sanchez’s infamous “Buttfumble,” he could be a strong addition to some team’s offensive line. Moore has been a dependable player since becoming a starter for the Jets in 2004, starting 137 straight games since then — the longest such streak for any offensive lineman in the NFL. Moore has been a Pro Bowler, a team captain and a recipient of the Jets’ Ed Block Courage Award.
In addition to the Cowboys, Lions and Dolphins, the Bears are believed to be interested in signing Moore.

Reports that the Bears are interested in Edelman. Not really a huge fan, I don't even think he's upgrade over Hester and won't help us stretch the field at all. If The Pats couldn't turn him into a quality slot receiver, what hope do we stand?

I agree not different enough from Bennett they are both slower reliable slot guys.
Spend the money on OG.

and both are injury prone........
If they want to cut Hester which I am for I would rather see Bennett as a PR which he has looked good doing the limited times he has done it. KR will probably be a problem unless someone steps up to task. And sign a cheap deep threat like Heyward Bey.

Assuming we stay at 20 would anyone be opposed to drafting Fluker and having him play LG?

There are no bad contracts, only bad players

If Emery/Trestman are fine with it, then I'm fine too. I guess I just have to trust that they know what they're doing.
