LG sucked balls and our interiors utter lack of movement in the ground game was a problem with even Louis, but man was that outside pressure constantly getting to him from both ends right out of the gate.
edit: and just to clarify, I do get the importance of the OG position, I just got into this argument a week ago here with someone who was saying an OG wasn't worth the 20th pick.
We need to fix LG and RT.
As long as the 2 positions get fixed I am okay with it.
But Levitre and Vollmer are going to cost about the same and they are both elite players at a position of need. I would not be upset if they signed either of them.
The options we are debating are elite or average,
Option 1
Sign Levitre and draft an OT to compete with Carimi/Scott
Option 2
Sign Brandon Moore and Gosder Cherilus and draft TE/LB

And where the hell did the equally obvious and available sign a OT and draft an LG option go?

I am not opposed to spending 8 million dollar on the OL regardless of position as long as it fits the following criteria,
1. They are elite at their position.
2. They are capable of playing at a Pro Bowl level.
3. They can pass block.
4. They are young.
The Bears need to invest resources in the OL. A 9 million dollar price tag for your entire OL is pathetic and shows a lack of talent, talent gets paid, and investment. I do not have an issue if they invest in the best if that means we get 1 elite player and not 2 others than that is okay, or if we sign 2 average guys okay.
Anything is an upgrade.

It is still an option.
I am just responding to the idea/rumors of signing an OG like Levitre and Moore.
I have been a huge proponent of the sign an OT and draft an OG idea, but I have not heard anything yet about the Bears looking into that.
Levitre
Fluker
or
Bushrod
Cooper, if he falls.
Both of those options make the team a lot better and probably cost a very similar amount.

Lets say hypothetically the Bears want to invest in an upper tier starting calibre OLmen.
Sox, who would you rather have Bushrod or Levitre?
Or if you don't think those guys are close in price Vollmer or Levitre?
I am torn, both are huge weaknesses and in the case of Vollmer and Levitre they are both elite players at their position. I might lean towards Levitre because he is younger and he is healthier than Vollmer. But I debate back and forth between which position we should sign and which position we should draft.
It was easier before Cooper moved himself into the top 15.

"According to the NY Daily News, the Giants are unwilling to enter a "bidding war" for free agent Martellus Bennett."

Moore just got $4 mill a year from Miami so I feel whatever Campbell is looking for will be an overpayment of what he's worth. I know a host of other factors were involved last year, but it isn't like JC showed he could come in and get you a couple wins while your #1 was on the mend. I hope Emery isn't all that eager $-wise to re-sign him.

Bears have shown interest in Pittsburgh guard Ramon Foster.
Harrison's tenure with Steelers could be coming to end | TribLIVE
So that makes Levitre, Moore, and now Foster, all guards.

We have also reportedly contacted Winston's agent, along with Mike Wallace and Greg Jennings'. Like I said, I have this feeling that I didn't last year while everyone else was expecting us to walk away with the world in FA. I think Emery is going to surprise everyone.
