I am happy that Bennett is a better blocker, so that's another good thing. His effort and attitude are my only concerns, otherwise I am 100% in. Still... other than Cook, I think the best available all around.

This is an exceptional signing for the Bears for a number of reasons.
1. Bennett is every bit the athlete of they most elite TEs in the league and is a freak athletically.
2. Bennett proved last season when outside of Dallas and with the pressure of being the starter he could thrive.
3. Trestman's specialty is being a father figure and he will get the best out of Bennett.
4. The Bears need a threat at TE and Bennett can catch the ball and he can block giving them a ton of options.

I wanted Emery to sign either Cook or Bennett. Cook would have been awesome but probably too expensive. Now we've got a huge upgrade over Davis. He's big (exact same height and weight as Gronk!), strong and physical. A good red-zone target. I like it and I guess Cutler will like it, too. ;-)
Now go get us a LT or LG, Phil.

If he turns out to be a mature player, then this is a good signing. If he likes his BMarsh, then hopefully BMarsh will have influence on his professional attitude. Who would have thunk that could be said about Brandon Marshall before he came here.
