Something tells me Emery got everything under control. I'm gonna lose so much respect for BU if this is all about money. Should retire as a Bears is not like he needs the money. @Retire as a Bear #54

last I heard for BU it was money w/Chicago or probable retirement. And Big D doesn't have a ton of money so I doubt they would be able to persuade him w/a big contract.

If he wants to play, he is going to have to wind up taking a hit to his ego. If it was not about money, he would have re-signed with the Bears by now.

His side offered the Bears a contract number, maybe the Bears are just dealing with FA before deciding if they can do that number or want to haggle for something else. Doesn't necessarily mean that it's BU's camp not making the move or refusing to take lower. Could just be awaiting a counter.

Well now that we have Bennett we could cut Davis and Spaeth and save ourself around 4 mil I think and give them to BU, but that might just be unrealistic. But it does seems like it is about the money otherwise as you said he should have signed with us by now.

My guess is they couldn't come to an agreement money wise so they are letting the market determine his value. I still think he resigns with our Bears. JMHO

Wow, didn't see this one coming. I really had the feeling the negotiations went well.
