Dickerson - Bears have not talked to any of their UFA's
This is a new regime and Bennett and Bushrod were the priority. Other ufa's they have been talking to were told to hold tight as the bears are re-evaluating things. BU is not a priority right now. Will probably cut spaeth.

its a new regime, no loyalty to the older guys like izzy and BU. It sure appears that their main goal is to spend most of the FA money on the offense. FINALLY!!!!

That's a good point. In the past regime, the Bears would have been pressured into resigning Urlacher this year. But Emery/Trestman have a "window of opportunity" right now, to simply "do the right thing" regardless of how popular a player is with the fans. Brian may be signed, but they do not HAVE to do this. They can simply do what is best for the team as we move forward.

I'm glad he said they are still thinking about adding a guard. brown/garza/(louis/carimi) is not a pretty thought, adding a vet LG and that IOL looks much better and wont be considered at #20. They then truly have the luxury of going BPA or trading down if possible. Tavon Austin could be the trade down bargaining chip from a team like the texans/pats if they dont decide to take him themselves.

That is not all good, remember Louis is also an FA. right now it's Bushrod, Spaeth(expect to get cut)/Brown/Carimi, Garza(expect to get cut), FA, Webb. So really it's Bushrod, Carimi/Brown, blank, blank, Webb.
So I hope they get Louis signed as well as BU and Izzy. Even if that means no one else in FA, I would really like those guys back.

I agree. Need a vet OG yet in FA to make it complete. Maybe a cheap Hayden-esque vet CB too to add something for nickel. Then re-sign Lach and izzy. Roach sounds like a goner and can be replaced by a draft pick. Draft a C too. Cut Spaeth and maybe Garza too depending on how TC/PS goes. And get Collins back too on the cheap.
