1) none of you whiny bitches is going to stop watching so just stop
2) again I point out that if the previous players were not SUING the NFL b/c they did not do enough to protect them, the NFL would not be making these changes.
All of you seem to act like this is happening b/c the NFL WANTS to make these changes, but they have to to mitigate what that lawsuit is going to cost them.
3) it's a good rule, the Def's shouldn't be leading w/the helmet, neither should the O players. While' we're at it, make sure the O isn't cutting the D players at the knees, or pusthing them in the back to force low contact w/the QB and cause a D flag.

Yes and 100% of us whiny bitches think they're going about it in the wrong way as they usually do. They aren't gonna mitigate legal damages from the past this way no matter what anyone thinks.
If that's truly their purpose then what they're doing now is essentially trying to bail out the Titanic after it sunk. The contention of those lawsuits has do with what did they know, when did they know it and were reasonable steps taken then based on what they knew at that time.
Now is a different era and while it may affect the future it will have little do with the past since those will get settled out of court anyway. NFL billionaires don't like a public airing of their dirty laundry and nobody wins if former players win a multi billion dollar lawsuit and try to put them out of business.
Their pension and health care benefits aren't fully funded so that's really biting the hand that feeds you. We're a long way from that anyway. This is a typical pendulum swinging too far in the other direction response so they must be taking a cue from the Federal Government. They're an expert at those kind of moves.![]()

I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Zinq, doesn't matter how you or I see it, the courts are going to side w/the players on this one....the league tried to say that the helmets made the player safe and they don't. And once a lawsuit sets president then every future player that retires is going to have an option for a lawsuit vs the nfl if the league cannot make sweeping changes in safety and can prove it is in fact trying to clean up the sport.
Anyone that thinks the league is doing this b/c they WANT to change the most popular sport in the league is out of their gords, this is a forced hand. None of this was a concern until the retired players filed suit. THEN safety was the primary concern.
Soul, you and the "fans" complaining about the changes seem to forget the sport is not what it was 100 years ago, nor is it the same as 50 or even 20 years ago. Yet you still watch and love it, and you'll continue to. I'm all for bitching about rules changes that made the passing game all but unstoppable, but in this we are talking about the health of the players; and it doesn't matter if you like it or not, this lawsuit and the potential for future lawsuits is forcing this. You'd just rather pin it on Goodel's head b/c of your distaste for him then look at the reality of the situation that demands these actions get taken. And I'm glad you finally admitted your a whiny bitch, it's the first step in recovery.
And the most pathetic thing is, leading w/the crown isn't something these guys are taught to do, or should be doing anyways. Lower the head, move it to the left or right sure, but leading w/the crown is a great way of concussing yourself, and hurting the player your about to hit. D guys shouldn't do it, nor should O guys. It's a stupd and dangerous practice, that is never taught to these guys nor should it be.
