Should we draft Cooper & the top center with our first 2 picks?
Our offensive line would be one of the better ones in the NFL with this move. The yearly OL woes end. We get two extremely talented OL players who can help us for the next decade or so.
If Cooper is available, and the draft's top center is available in the 2nd round, do we pull the trigger in your opinion?

Trestman - Kromer - Tucker - DeCamillis
I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.

If Urlacher stays or not, we HAVE to draft a LB. If one is not available at those spots, fixing o-line couldn't hurt.

Depends, do we have Urlacher back? If not then you have to get a MLB, if we do then 100% yes you go with a Guard and then a Center

Depends on what money and restructuring for the remaining FA's. Getting those two would go a LONG way towards getting the OL back up to speed. We sign our guys on D then I would say that wouldn't be too bad of a option.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

JABF, if (Big If at this point due to Emery's very methodical and tight lipped approach) he plays his cards right and extends Peanut/Melton as an example we can also make a run at Moore. Man what an OL this could be:
LT - Bushrod
LG - Cooper
C- Jones
RG - Moore
RT - Webb
So much has to happen and happen the right way but hey one can hope.

Our #1 weakness, the offense, would become a strength. It would look lights-out better. And not just the passing game. If you give Matt Forte and Bush an offensive line to run behind, it's going to be totally incredible to watch.
The defense isn't going to drop off much if any this year, no matter what happens. And this offense (with an offensive line being a strength) will MORE than offset any decline in the defense. And Emery will come out of this year looking like a stinking genius.......just by fixing out #1 problem - the offensive line.
But, if he FAILS to fix the offensive line (this being his 2nd year to do so) then Emery will quickly become as hated as Jerry Angelo. He'll just be seen by many (include me in this category) as just one more Bears idiot, in a long line of idiots.

I agree 100% but am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Surely the leadership team at HH would not have gone out of their way to bring in Emery and let him clean house and then hire one of the sport's best West Coast Offense experts if they did not intend to seriously upgrade the Oline. I am being very patient because that is exactly the MO Emery fits and uses to a T. I do expect some surprises yet to come (No big splashes but very solid moves to build that foundation on the OLine we have waited years for) and I know the draft will address at least one of the remaining 3 positions that are weak (LG/C/RG). Louis is a wildcard right now and Emery should be planning all contingencies in case he won't sign what I hope is a 1 year "I'll prove my worth coming off of surgery" cheap contract.

I have yet to see a mock that shows Cooper dropping to 20. So I just don't find it likely. IF he does, hell yes they should take him, same w/Ogletree. If not just drop back.

If Cooper or Warmack drops to us for some reason then we pull the trigger regardless of Urlacher. If Urlacher is gone then we should go for a LB in 2th round, if he is there then yes go for BPA at center postions.
If Urlacher does sign and Cooper and Warmack are both gone then I'd probably trade down to in order to get two 2th rounds pick and pick Jones(Play him as LG) then go after either Frederick or Schwenke.

I doubt very seriously Emery would explore this option but he could trade up with this year's first and next year's third to move up 4-5 places to have a shot at Cooper. I think some mocks have him going at 13-15.
