@RapSheet: With Urlacher's claim about the take-it-or-leave it offer: Disciplined teams are like that. Set a price, don't go higher. Every1 has a value
get his $11M over two years
accept the $2M for one year
still be gone

Henry Burris say BEAR DOWN!
I started reading this thread way after it started & after an hour & 1/2 I finally got to the end. I would expect nothing less when a great player & future HOF's run with the team that played his entire career ends. This isn't a post about wether this was done the right way or what #54 is worth.
Urlacher has been the face of the franchise since the 1st game he played MLB. Over the span of his career as a Bear, no Bear has been better. He is a true Bear & always will be. When he does retire, probably sooner than later, he will retire a Bear. He was arguably the best MLB to ever wear a Bear uniform (after Butkus, sorry MS). When he missed time our "D" was a fragment of itself. He was the main reason that Lovie Smith's defense was effective year after year. He was a 6'4" 260lb athletic freak, with great football instincts. A player other teams had to game plan for every week. A team leader & a true pro. His teammates will miss him, we as Bear fans will miss him & probably sooner than he would like, the NFL will miss him. I, like many others have a #54 jersery I've been wearing for most of the Bears games over the span of his career as a Bear. I wish nothing but the best for #54 & thank him for all the highlights he has given us as Bear fans. If he plays for another team I will root for him every game except against our beloved Bears!
Now Emery needs to get busy signing the right LBs to keep this defense on track. Somehow I think he already has a plan.
Go Bears!

The passion of a few, to rule the many, that's Washington D.C.. Where else was that said before, about whom?

One quote left out in this article that they just played on the radio
"I'm not going to play for $2M. NOT FOR THE BEARS"

There is a very good chance he retires a Bear. Unless he takes less money than the Bears offered from some other team.

and about 50'% of the respect I had for him is gone... guy has millions of money and getting 2 million now when he isn't even worth that is a slap in the face? Guy should have a normal job with average payment and say this again.
