The radical thing is Urlacher, but the only position we need to change is linebacker. We need 2 new starters pronto. If we get 'em, we're not gonna have to worry about the D for a while.
Yes. Big changes everywhere you look.
No. It's not a big deal.

Like what? What "radical" changes are taking place?
He brought in a LT and TE..how is that anywhere NEAR "radical" instead of simply addressing an area of concern?
Not agreeing to terms with Lach? Is that radical now? knowing that he only HAD one, MAYBE two more years left in him anyway? Sure, its not an "ideal" way to send off the face of your franchise for the past decade, but its far from 'radical.'
So please, enlighten me on what you think Emery has done that is so "radical," i seriously am interested in knowing.
I'm trying//to let go//of maybe//but maybe's just so//very interesting//Oh, what a thing.
I think it would be more accurate to say the Bears are in an offensive building mode... It is not possible to rebuild something that was never there to begin with....
As for whether the team as a whole is rebuilding... that will depend on how the rest of FA and the draft plays out.
"Professional Armchair Quarterback" and other oxymora.....
MPBears68 say BEAR DOWN!

@Jimmors - Not gonna bite on your hook ;)
As for the OP's topic, I really don't see it as a rebuild, but I see the perspective of it. Emery has made some big bold moves that have upgraded the team since he's been here, and will have even more decisions with peppers, tillman, & briggs who are all on the wrong side of youth. I imagine we will even see some young guys from the JA/Lovie era find the door as well.
I guess I just see it as Emery building his team rather than Emery having to start over and rebuild...which is how I personally define rebuild.
I dont know if we find both LB positions in the draft through, we dont have enought picks and there are other areas of concern, like the OL.. There are FA's available though that i think could be decent for a year or 2.. Dansby and Mcintosh are 2 names that come to mind.

So I guess as this thread has done the OL is now good to go? Has PM and JC practicing hiking the ball to JC on his back to save injuries? top pick is now LB. Still need another, but "we have no money left for LB," JC running for his life STILL isn't going to help the OFF be better. Tice will do magic, now its the new OLC and I am to take it for face value? Add in a rookie to the OL and all is well? the other 3 starters are? Garza, ohh what a warm fuzzy feeling I get. Webb at RT, mental midget, but on the right side all will make him focus better, yea right. LL or GC at other guard if they draft a guard, RIGHT.LL is injury prone cut him, thats what most say to an injuried player on this board. Lets just tank the season(s) and get a good draft pick for the next few years. REBUILD !!!! the more you lead me to misbeilve the more I don't trust you. As for BU why not bring him to camp to see what he has left?
The passion of a few, to rule the many, that's Washington D.C.. Where else was that said before, about whom?

I said yes because while we absolutely have major pieces in place; QB, WR, RB, DE this is a period where the Bears must find their new identity. Mel Tucker may run a similar defense as Lovie however he hasn't developed a rapport and that is not going to mature in one offseason. New coaches across the board.
Rebuilding is only a bad thing if we come out and have worse than a .500 record next season. With the structure in place rebuilding would seem to be fluid and a subpar season does not appear to be imminent to me.
