Our draft picks this year are precious as gold. Emery has to hit on every one of our top picks - and especially with our overall #1 pick. Why risk getting a Tank Johnson type guy risk having to cut him? Rodriguez was a 4th round pick. That's tough to cut him (still). But if we end up having to cut a #1 pick (Ogletree) that is devastating. We already have too many holes to fill.

Where did you see this info? The most recent story i can find doesn't say he wasn't the driver.... Link
Rodriguez was arrested for impeding a DUI arrest and refusing to comply with police directives. However, it is not clear if Rodriguez was the person being investigated for a DUI.

Arrested for resisting arrest? wtf? That's either a false report, or the corruption in the government is worse than I thought.

Considering I read stories like a woman get arrested for interference for filming the cops on her own yard or a guy putting up his hands to stop getting beat as "resisting arrest". I'll take this story w/a grain of salt or 2.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

I think this will open his eyes a little. Don't the Bears lead the NFL in arrests this offseason?

I'm telling you guys, THIS year, Emery has to bat 1000. There is zero room for error with our top draft pick. It simply HAS to pan out. So, with that in mind, do you roll the dice with your first pick of the draft - or choose a guy without drug/alcohol/legal risk?
To me it's a no brainer. Don't risk your #1 pick. Be smarter than that.
Agreed totally. Ogletree is too much of a risk at this time. If we were like San Francisco in terms of talent we could afford to take that risk but this year we can't.
Now on to the Rodriguez mess. If this was his first time I wouldn't be that concerned but it's his third issue so I am somewhat concerned. I do understand fights with RA happen but felony assualt is NOT a good thing. Usually I'd say go ahead and cut him BUT we can't do it this year. Too many holes to fill.
