Gimme 2 OL with our first two picks , and 1 FA OL , and that's a good start towards this rebuild the Bears are gonna have to do . I want to see them build a great O ... and that begins with the line . I'm not even concerned with them making the playoffs next year, as long as they're building a line that's gonna have us in the playoffs in the ensuing years .. and for years to come.

I don't want quick fix older players that might get us in the playoffs 1-2x in the next 5yrs. I want young guys who will have us in the playoffs 6,7,8 years IN A ROW - even if it means waiting another year or two in the process . That's why I see older expensive players like Urlacher , Hester etc not coming back . Nothing against them , but their best years are gone and it makes more sense to spend on the younger players who will make us good again in the near future .
I Love Lou " Dr. Slushmouth" Holtz .

Emery won't go OL with 1st & 2nd. It will be either or. If Warmack and Jones fall to those 2 picks, he might go OL & OL but this won't happen.

I like that fantasy talk, really do but we don't know much about the Draft before the Combine, Pro Days and Free Agency

I'm the same way mp...I really thought that we would be okay up front this year

I thought Cwill (lol) was becoming a good gaurd

    I thought Webb would improve

    Didn't see the carimi collapse

But this is out of hand and I favor radical action as well to get it going on now

I'm not sure I thought we'd be good (there was always the Tice factor as well as no real upgrades), but I did think Carimi would anchor the right. Honestly, to help mitigate that, I have to say that Webb improved more than I thought (which I expected to be zero), and Louis played very well. Given the Tice line rotating chairs and Carimi's leg, I guess it ended up being not as bad as it could have been.

The big problem was not upgrading the OL. Looking back on this now in the rear view mirror, it is very possible that Emery took Tice and Lovie's advice on the line and let them make their bed. I think if things would have gone as they told him they would, Lovie would still be here, bad offense or not. That is because with a better OL, we would have made the playoffs.

I think he gave them the rope the rope they asked for and it was a fail for them. Getting back on topic, I didn't expect a good line, but I did not expect to see it regress either.

Yep this is why it's fun to fantasize over a T'eo or olgetree but its going to be OL in one and maybe even 2 if there is someone slipping

    GBPH,

If Emery has any brains he has to address the OL BIGTIME .. the rest of it doesnt matter.

If he is as good as he thinks he is ... if that isnt the #1 issue concerning his team ...

then he better find ALOT of smart scouts in a hurry.

Alot of this hinges on BU and how the new HC grades out roach/diccio

If BU comes back its a very likely we go OL in one and concider who is on the board, double dipping if he likes a guy. I'm confident he will really move to solidify our line, and really hope BU had another go in him

Heres what cracks me up ... they say the 2014 draft is going to be heavy at OL ...

    but this is 2013.

And I think all of us know good and well we cant wait until 2014.

This has to be the year we put an OL on the field that isnt one of the BOTTOM FEEDERS as to when it comes to SUCKING.

If Emery isnt calling the shots on the HEALTH of the team no matter who is the Coach ... then what do we need him for ?

What do you guys like for rounds 4-7

I was thinking along the lines off his assuming OL/MLB are 1 and 2

    4-EJ Manuel, QB Flordia St.
    5-Hugh Thornton, OG Illinois
    6-TE/DL
    7-Best avail

If Manuel makes if this far I'd like to snag him up, underrated IMO and overshadowed by a great duo this year running the ball. I doubt he makes it this far if not i like the Klein guy here. Cheap security at qb and develoent for future

I also think Thornton is a good value at 5...kinda reminds me of brown who has a raw skill set and size that just has to be amplified

no team should only look at ONE hole on the roster. We have many other holes and our 1st / 2nd / 4th could easily end up with ILB, OL & TE
