    1th round: Jones All pos.
    2th round: Dallas Thomas OT/G
    4th round: Levine Toiolo TE
I'd like to see us pick those players up. I don't know how our oline should look like but I imagine something like this: FA LT - Jones - Garza - Dallas Thomas - Carimi
Don't know when Louis will but he should be back after their rookie season so the Oline could look like this in 2 years time: FA LT - Dallas Thomas - Jones - Lous - Carimi.

I'm assuming Emery is going to go balls out to sign an LT & a TE in FA. Maybe a vet OG too if possible. We have pretty decent cap space preliminarily as of now and can free up more by dumping/trading Hester, Davis, Spaeth and by not wasting it retaining some of our own FAs who should be let go (Spencer, Campbell). A lot will depend on re-signing/re-structuring those players we should want to keep like Peppers, Melton, Urlacher, Louis (health permitting). Then, draft (assuming no trade downs or extra picks)...

1st: bpa OL (prob Jones, Warmack, or Cooper)
    2nd: bpa SLB
4th-7th: OL, TE, QB, WR (Knox replacement) in any order

Like the idea of heavy OL but I'd say we need a MLB in 2 provided we go OL in one

    Wouldn't be opposed to

    OL
    MLB
    None
    OL
    TE
    BPA
    BPA

Can't fix every hole in one season, we got the WR sorta under control right now so I'd go with what I've listed and adress our other needs in the 2014 draft.
    1. MLB
    2. WR/TE Depends on needs
    3. TE/WR Depends on needs
    4. Perhaps a CB

As I've said in the other thread I think our offense is our biggest problem. I can see us do relative well in defense if we remain the same players remember our defense didn't do to bad even tho BU missed games. Our Oline did do horrible even with BU on the team. So I wanna fix the Oline know and still keep a good defense and fix the other needs in the next draft.

I'd like to see a GM that can rebuild a team from shit to SB contenders in one off season.

I think it would be foolish to just fix one side of the ball. A NFL roster is always a work in progress, needs some upgrades everytime and needs to be build well and well thought out.

Only going offense this year as you suggested would leave a hole on the D going forward. You will see a difference soon with the new and offensiv minded HC. You can't have a good D with cut guys only and an offensiv minded team. Who says that next year is a good enough MLB with talent when we pick? I would not want to reach out for a MLB just because I passed on Te'o or Ogletree this year.
We need another quality and cheap CB.
We should draft a QB this year with the 5th or 6th, same goes for WR in the 6th or 7th.
We need OL help for sure.
If we go with Shea as LB, we need another pass rusher with good size to develop behind Peppers and Wooten. Izzy will be a Free Agent and will get some money - money we may not be able to give him with the other needs on our Roster.
What about the worst TE corps in the NFL?
We also need a #3 DT behind Melton and Paea. We haven't even signed Melton to a contract yet. Maybe the new coach doesn't even want him (don't think that this would be true ;-) )
If we cut Hester, not sure if Weems would be good enough as returner.
Will we bring back Campbell or sign another vet to be Cutlers backup?

there are so many roster questions right now on both sides of the ball. Going offense and OL only in the Draft would set this team back.
Sign a OL player this offseason to start, draft a OL player with the 2nd and maybe with a later pick like 6th or 7th and call it a day on OL until after the Draft. Sign the next best Guard after the Draft in the 2nd wave of Free Agent signings when you know how much Cap Space you have left.
Bushrod, Albert, Clady, Long - one or two of them will make it to Free Agency.

OT: Carimi, Webb and FA LT (Bushrod, Albert, Clady, Long)
OG: Brown, Louis, FA and 2nd round pick
    OC: Garza and EWilliams

this looks miles better than what we had to start this year. Now add that Carimi should be healthy going into next season with another offseason and time to heal up, Brown will only improve and Garza has time to recover his focus and mental problems.

What we shouldn't forget: Te'o seems to have a good character and would fit in well with our team. Ogletree would fit in well into our scheme and style of D.

Roach, BU & Hayes are Free Agents. If we bring back BU, it would be for next year only. He is done and if he has something left, it would be next year only. He would help the new coach with his leadership on D and his experience + he could mentor the 1st rounder which would help them more than anything else. If we draft a MLB 2014, we won't have BU to help him and teach him.

As of now, I would go with

    1: MLB
    2: OL
    4: TE
    5: QB/WR
    6: WR/QB
    7: CB/OL

and I think Emery will bring in a LT via free agency

Yes I agree we can't ignore the defense but our failures are almost exclusively on offense and specifically on the line

In a perfect world we can move down and get a 3rd back, and still be able to take Jones...although I don't think that will be the case

now that we talked alot about Jones, Warmack and LBs... what should we do if Jones, Warmack, Te'o and Ogletree is gone before we pick?

Good point glad you brought that up

I'd say in that case we could take the that LB from Kansas state with a trade down maybe as far as to the top of the 2nd round to net another 2nd/3rd/next year 2nd or something like that idk what that would cost a team

    That way we could go

    2nd-LB (Kansas state LB)
    2nd-OL
    3rd-OL
    4th-QB
    5-CB
    6-Speed WR
    7-OL

*assuming we got a TE in FA as well as a tackle

And we have a 2nd in the bag next year

I agree after all the ELITE (lock for day one starters in most teams)OL are gone (usually 2-5 per class I'd say) then you can hold off till later 2nd or 3rd and get a quality interior guy

Just guys like Warmack and Jones for example are a step up but leaving them out of the discussion for now I say tier 2 guys will be findable later

    THIS.

The D doesn't need to be "fixed", German. Tweaked, maintained, polished a bit...yes. Fixed...no. It finished 5th in yards allowed, 1st in takeaways, and 1st in Aikman ranking. And consider that those numbers were put up by a D that spent way way too much time on the field due to an inept offense that often went 3 & out and otherwise couldn't score. Imagine how good the numbers would have been if the O had just been reasonably competent in the SF and Sea games, for example.

I have no problem with drafting a D player in the first 2 rounds. But make the other pick and all of FA be on O. The offense is broken, the defense definitely is not.
