I think what is killing comics is:
-Retconning everything, killing continunity, and re-aligning universes/worlds constantly
-Bringing back every dead hero back to life. It meant something when they STAYED dead
-lack of content in only about 20 pages. Panels used to be jammed packed full of narrative, ideas, and the characters thoughts, now it's just story arcs to try to gain a trade paperback published after the comic. Add back in the content and digital sales rebound most likely as well.
Comics better not die because Hollywood would have no ideas
