Keeper League Trade Proposal: Can you give me your input?
Looking for some input on this proposed transaction before Thursday (12-13-12):
To be received: Matt Forte, Pierre Garcon, and a 4th round draft pick (approx. 33rd overall)
To be given up: Darren McFadden, Dez Bryant, and a 2nd round draft pick (approx. 18th overall)
DETAILS:
Set Up:
10 Team DYNASTY LEAGUE (8 protected out of a 17 player roster. No protection penalties. D/ST done separately as 18th and 19th roster slots.) The picks involved with the trade come after 80 returning players are removed from the board.
Positions Played: QB, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, Flex, K, D/St
Weekly payouts based on overall scoring (non-head to head format)
Season is broken into two parts, with a mid-season redraft. (again w/ 8 prot. players)
Three overall places are also paid out for each half of the season based on weekly performance.
Scoring:
Passing Yards: 25 yds per point
Interceptions: -3
Rushing/Receiving: 10 yds per point
Pass/Rush/Receiving/Fumble Touchdowns: 6 points
2- Point Conversions: 2 Points
Defensive and Kicker scoring has no bearing on trade…
My Team:
Robert Griffin
Carson Palmer
Percy Harvin
Dez Bryant
Denarius Moore
James Jones
Danny Amendola
Alshon Jeffery
Titus Young
Adrian Peterson
Doug Martin
Darren McFadden
Marcel Reece
Daryl Richardson
Aaron Hernandez
Heath Miller
Greg Zuerlein
WHAT I LIKE:
I like it because I am in 2nd place overall, this trade gives me the best chance of a Championship for this season. McFadden is just getting eased into the game, and it looks like Dez might very well be out, or at least less effective with his hand fracture.
The Bobby three sticks to Frenchie connection also plays very well in our format. Highs/Lows give you a better chance of getting payouts than the same point total leveled out.
Not the biggest fans of the two players I’m giving up.
WHAT I DO NOT LIKE:
While I believe Forte is great keeper material, (especially, as a flex play) I do not think that the sum of the players received have close to the same upside. I can realistically see Dez taking off next year, and I can easily see the knucklehead being a top 5 receiver. All the talent and that third year thing is about to kick in…
I think Garcon is a great player, but his toe really bothers me. Elected not to do surgery because there was not a guarantee it would help. I can see this being a problem that might never go away. Heard during an interview that it is getting better, but it is painful and he DOES have pain when pushing off. That said: I think the redskins are 6 and 1 when he is able to play (7-6 overall).

pass. If Forte is not used in the passing game, he is easily replaceable and league average

Dez and a 2nd for Forte and a 4th(McFadden/Garcon are irrelevent, neither would be kept anyways).
I'll take Dez and the high round pick 100 out of 100 times for Forte and a 4th. Dez is worth more then Forte right now straight up w/how Forte was used this year. No way of knowing if they will use him correctly next year either.

So, the trade is:
Give - injury prone RB that flashes decent numbers twice a year, injured underperformer who occassionally gets his head screwed on right w/ some pontential & a higher round future pick
Receive - Semi injured RB with no Oline (and as Benji points out no longer gets pass targets), a WR who is currently injured and flashes decent numbers (post P.Manning) twice a year and a lower round future pick
My take - though free agency sounds like the real direction to go, lol, don't make the trade.........only because of the future picks swap. The rest is a push in my book.

Appreciate the feed back.
I held off on this trade offer. However, I do think all of the four players are keepers in our league. Garcon perhaps not so much for others, but would be for me because of RGIII.
To give you an idea of my theoretical keepers for next year:
QB: R. Griffin
WR1: P. Harvin
WR2: D. Bryant
RB1: A. Peterson
RB2: D. Martin
TE: A. Hernandez
Flex: D. McFadden
Bench:???? One of:
Alshon Jeffery (depending on how he finishes out this year)
Daryl Richardson (depending on if Steven Jackson is done in St. L)
Carson Palmer (good back up is needed w/ RG, and league hoards QBs)
Not sure where the last roster spots at (and won't until next years draft) but the WR core looks the weakest and Jeffery looks like the best prospect left. Thought Moore and James could step up this year, but didn't happen so much. Amendola is a guy I like, but the Rams and Bradford just haven't figured things out. Young Sr. has been a jackass.

Your league allows to many kepers first off, next to no reason to draft.
2 If you have Peterson/McFadden/Martin you really dont need another RB. Do need WR help though.

no way you make that deal in my book. realise its academic as im too late but I think you did right
good luck
