OT Tra Thomas and WR Torry Holt will be released
Torry Holt, Tra Thomas to be cut Monday | ProFootballTalk.com
Thomas would be a nice pick up as a one year stop gap at RT because he can pass protect.
Holt is worth considering because he knows that Martz system and he might speed up the transition.
That and they should both come cheap.

Always a good idea to have at least 1 veteran WR on the team... especially one that knows the system you are switching to... Holt should be a no-brainer.
And its always a good idea to add depth at tackle... why not.

The guy was a Pro Bowl LT and yes he is a little older but as a one year pass protector I would take him over Shaffer any day.

Pace was a bit older and had lots of pro bowls under his belt and look what happened. I'd rather have some youth on the oline.

As for Holt being a no-brainer AT, not so much for me. I've got no problem with a vet receiver, but I'd much rather it be a big possession guy like Kevin Walter.

Tra also gave up 3 sacks, 4 hits and 4 hurries in only 154 snaps starts last season. That's called trending downward.

Holt is obviously a no brainer, but I don't think Tra was a Ram or a Lion, so he is right out.

Get Holt. Have him retire and have him come in as a assistant wr coach to save a roster spot.
